Did anyone hear NBC White House Correspondent, who's still smarting that HE wasn't the first one told about Dick Cheney's hunting accident, on Imus in the Morning this morning? MSNBC also televised the segment, and it sure seemed David was drunk. Speaking to Imus from New Dehli, India, David was laughing and giggling and talking about the movie Arthur and all. When Imus asked him, "Are you drunk?", Gregory started laughing and mumbling some response.

Imagine if that had been a FOX News reporter or something. People would be demanding that person's job. Come to think of it, why not? Gregory should be fired.

Weird.

Dealing with Bush's no-info, lock down administration would drive any journalist to drink.

Lost in all this is that it was dinner & drinky time in India while Imus was puffing off his oxygen tank in the morning. So while Gregory shouldn't have been on the air, at least he wasn't drunk in the morning..for whatever it's worth.

If Gregory could've waited a few hours he could've had a field day. This bootleg Katrina preparation video is a f**king goldmine.

Fired for having a few pops after 5pm in India? You mean like Rush Limbaugh who frequently went on the air under the influence of illegally obtained pain killers he had his cleaning lady procure from him through false prescriptions? That kind of fired? wink biggrin.gif

Kidding aside, I was wondering why Imus asked Doris Kearns Goodwin if she had been drinking. I missed the first segment of Imus this morning. Anyhow, if he was drunk, I'd agree that it was unprofessional. On the other hand, it's not like DG was officially reporting in his capacity as WH correspondent. He is frequently on Imus just to joke around. Still, I think folks back at the Rockefeller Center mother ship will not be pleased.
