Well, if we gave Saddam biological weapons or what not, we have an even greater duty to right that wrong and stop him from using them.

But I just don't understand this shock over the fact that we have shifting alliances in foreign relations. It's like not buying a Japanese car because they bombed us once. Allies become enemies, enemies become allies. That's war, that's life, etc.

Novak is, from what I can tell, very anti-war, and he skews his reporting that way. That's fine, because he's basically an opinion columnist, not a journalist - he "reports" on his opinions, basically. But just FYI.

Our real allies should be those who treat us the way we would like to be treated.

If we knew Iraq was using these materials to commit terror against his own people, would a majority of citizens have supported continuing to supply him with them, even to accomplish the stated goals?
