We can all breathe easier now:

Ben Affleck for Congress: "I think there's a real nobility to public service. It would be fun to run on a platform I really believed in, without being beholden to the win-at-all-costs mentality." Commentary from the Boston Herald: "he could always run for office from his new home, La-La. But let's face it, his wacky liberal agenda is a much better fit in the home district ... we are breathless with the thought of the Mrs.-To-Be in a little pillbox hat gazing adoringly at her man as he gives some boring policy speech."

Dirk Benedict for Governor! The guy from the A-Team (although wasn't he also as a cuter younger self on Battlestar Gallatica?) -- one day hopes to run for Governor of Montana -- this according to Page Six. (I heard they were being overrun by Hollywood types up there, but are they being taken over?)

You know, I really don't think Matt Damon would look very cute in a pillbox hot.

No, he means Ben's soon-to-be wife, not his boyfriend! Mrs. Lopez-Affleck. Well, both Massachusetts and California have large Latino populations (Boston is about 26% or so Latino, isn't it?), so Ben wouldn't hurt himself in either place.

BTW, what is his wacky liberal agenda? Free Priuses for non-fur-wearing recyclers? Sign me up. Maybe we can get Taye Diggs to run in New York. He's cute and doesn't appear to have an idea in his head...though I think L. L. Cool J, a newly fervent Republican, has found politics, so maybe he'll battle Russell Simmons for a Senate seat from New York at some point. That would be fun...they could debate each other in raps.
