LKS, Rove's time isn't up just yet; it will be when this Administration ends. He's always been and will only be a Bush-related phenomenon, as is DeLay to a lesser - read, coattails - degree. We'll see much less of Texas after President Giuliani is inaugurated! wink
Rove was active long before Warrantless Wiretapper took office, and unless he's convicted of a felony (conspiracy, lying to a grand jury, etc.) he'll continue to play a key role with the Republicans, who remain under his spell. It appears that DeLay, who also began his corruption-laden games with former College Republicans Abramoff, Norquist and Rove at least a decade ago, finally overstepped, and has not only lost his leadership position but probably will be convicted of several different crimes. As for President Giuliani, you'll have to keep dreaming. You still have the religious fanatics pulling the strings in your party, and until you stop them, they'll never let a pro-gay Catholic divorcé who lived with an openly homosexual couple while his wife was appealing to the Archbishop of New York to become president. That he brazenly employed an openly racist pedophile (Harding) who was later convicted also won't help, nor will his associations to people with known mob ties (like Bernie Kerik). Giuliani's well-documented racism wouldn't hurt him at all, but his pro-gay stands definitely will--that is, unless he reinvents himself as the newest Mr. Anti-Brokeback.
