I find it more comprehensive than other sites, which are usually blogs by one writer (e.g., Keith Boykin, Farai Chideya), OR which are more "pop culture" than political info. and insight.

Interesting story about a black lsesbians view on which of the minority titles she considers more important.
Personally I can't see putting any one aspect of who I am before the others: black, gay, chemist, country boy, music fan, genealogist? Which is more important depends on the situation. Neither comes up more than the other as I see it.

You will see stuff there that never appears in the corporate media. Even on the rare occasion that I disagree with them, I always respect them. Blackcommentator.com calls them as it sees them without favoritism or fear.

Although the micorosoft corpotate machine is behind it, africana.com usually has pretty good political and social commentary.
