Full Version: Haliburton's Payments to Cheney

In politics, wehere appearance can become reality, this stinks to high heaven.

Dick Cheney has received hundreds of thousands of dollars from Haliburton since taking office as Vice President, all the while claiming he has no financial interest in the company. Papers filed with the Office of Government Ethics (yeah, it's an oxymoron...) listed $205,298 in deferred salary payments made to Cheney in 2001; in 2002, he earned $162,393. The papers show Cheney is scheduled to get more payments in 2003, 2004, & 2005.

He's still claiming that he has no financial interest in Haliburton--the very company that was awarded (without competition) a $1 billion contract by the Army Corps of Engineers to restore & repair oil fields in Iraq.

He's still claiming...Saddam and the 9/11 hijacker-slaughterers were linked. Even W has disavowed this lunacy. Take anything Cheney utters for what it is: a bald-faced lie.

(I'm sure he's thinking, well, what a great four years. All that time in the bunker arranging contracts for Halliburton and the Saudis, pushing the extreme right agenda he championed during his House days, and once he leaves office he'll be far richer than he ever was before.)
