This poor guy -- White Sox player Al Smith -- just passed away -- and will seemingly be best remembered for this great photo!

Great picture, DCBucky, thanks! The spilled beer incident reportedly dogged Smith for the rest of his career, which was actually very successful. After high school he played in the Negro League for a couple of years, was its leading batter in 1947. He played in the majors for 11 years, and retired from the Red Sox in 1964, coincidentally the very same year in which Mark Grace was born.
