And yes, I do think that vets running helps the Dems. I am so tired of the Republicans being able to show the Democrats as soft on defense and generally unpatriotic because of their lack of military credentials.
But Dinger, many major Democrats were in the military service. Both Gore and Kerry served in Vietnam. Tom Daschle is a veteran. Max Cleland is a triple amputee because of his military service, and was still defeated by a guy who claimed \"knee\" problems kept him out of the miliary. John Murtha is a veteran. Hell, even Teddy Kennedy is a veteran. What the GOP manages to do is to impugn the Democrats' miliitary service and to paint them as unpatriotic. This occurs even though MOST of the major Republicans, except for John McCain and Donald Rumsfeld, avoided military service, often through deferments or some other means. Rove, Cheney, Hastert, DeLay, Frist...none of them served. Not one.
Once the Dems won with Clinton over Bush SR and Dole ( Both WWII vets ) the vet question was moot. As it will be with Hillary in 2008.

Hillary in 2008? Puhleeze. She stands as much of a chance of winning as Guiliani does.

Well, don't hold your breath waiting to laugh. With poll after poll consistently indicating that 44% of Americans "definitely would not vote for" Hillary, she stands about as much of a chance as Bush does of putting three coherent sentences together.
Among other reasons, the electoral lock would make a victory by her impossible to achieve.

And only this blundering administration could make those 44% change their minds!

No way in hell, trust me. If you believe such love of Hillary exists or can exist, you're more naive than I thought.
The Democrats would stand a much better chance with someone else.

No, not at all. Your views dont even come close to mainstream america that will punch the ballot box.
You crazy libs may enjoy patting eachother on the back here, but the majority of americans think you are idiots, hence why you seem to lose at the ballot box more and more.
Fact is most americans wont vote for hillary because:
A large majority of people hate her.
She is a woman.

The thing is, Philly and MIB, is that the morons running things now continue to push people to the Left. Enough for Hillary, I don't know, but further and further left, to be sure. I told you guys some time ago - the pendulum swings, the power shifts back; the arrogance of the group we have now ensures it's coming back to the Left. Just a matter of time.

Cite one actual current
policy position of Miz Rodham's that indicates she's anything but a mainstream, centrist -- ie, spineless -- Democrat.

Hillary stands for whatever the polls tell her to stand for, doubt anyone could even say they are her own beliefs.
She's all over the port thing, funny is that foreign companies have been running them for sometime, not a whisper.
I'm just sayin that when push comes to shove and it's vote for her over a man, the man will win out. Kerry lead in most every poll in the last election, but when it came time to vote, no one trusted him.

Well, Judge Judy, you just earned the
"DUH!" award for the day. What do you think she's going to do--make issues out of things that will make her look bad? (oh wait, thats a Bush tactic). Of course she persues what makes her look good, its called smart politics.

I know there are wackos on both sides of the political fence but this guy takes the cake.....he wants to make being gay a felony punishable by death. How can anyone in their right mind, no matter how conservative, actually say something like this?! I hope to God he hasnt even a remote chance of winning the nomination!!

The Advocate - Kill Gays Since he "self-identifies" as a Democrat, he's hardly a conservative. Just a wacko. Period.

That Ohio nut doesn't claim to be a conservative but as GMG says, is running in the Democratic primary because that's the last "registration" he had. Oh my...which Democrat did he vote for? Woodrow Wilson?
Once again, I have to say, I hope Hillary doesn't run. I pray she doesn't run. It's a disaster I can foresee, just like George W.'s Iraqmire. Bill is obviously too busy collecting cash from Dubai to talk some sense to her, and her lack of Republican opposition in the Senate race may just be inflating her head to Zeppelin proportions. Please, Hillary, don't do this to us. Because if it's you against McCain, we're stuck with him, and he's shown he's about as much a craven fake who'll enable more Republican corruption and misrule as any of the other ones.
Maybe Chuck Hagel will actually beat out McCain, though I don't know how. He's also a conservative Republican, and I'd probably vote for Hillary over him, but I'd have to think about it before I pulled the lever. But then again, maybe Mark Warner or Brian Schweitzer or Wesley Clark or, God help us, John Edwards will run and beat out Hillary, and all this very depressing forecasting will have been for nought.
Maybe if we're all lucky it'll be Hillary v. some doofus Republican, and NO ONE will vote. It would serve them right. Idiots all.
