So how long before he's forced out/resigns? First John McCain says he has "no confidence" in Rummy and now
Trent Lott says he should be replaced.
When it's the GOP senators who are making these statements, things can't look good for Rumsfeld.
One of several chickens that I expect to come home to roost for Shrub over the next four years . . .

Rummy will be around for a while, I believe. Bush doesn't want any hint that he was wrong about the war. Rummy will be around for another six months, maybe, and when he's replaced the new guy will suddenly suggest that Iraq needs more manpower and Bush will applaud him for his candor and go along with the new plan for Iraq and act like nothing is wrong in the war.

I can understand the White House ignoring the media and the Democrats, and even Susan Collins, (on CNN.com), but I beleive that the combined critisizms of Collins, McCain, and Lott will be hard to ignore. They have the whole spectrum covered, moderate, centrist and right wing GOP.
I think that Rummy may resign once Powell is gone.
But wouldn't it be nice for Powell to let loose on Rummy once he is a free man, but he's much too much of a gentleman to do that.

I will predict that right around the Iraq election time, assuming there is one, and in January given the mess going on over there, that Rummy's head may roll then. We shall see how this plays out.
