Im shocked and awed, with Chimpco Inc. telling us the economy was about to take off like a rocket.
The Cheney/Bush/Lay economy trudges along.

Thats it, if Gates/Buffett and all the other billionares could just get some more money in their pocket it will all trickle down, thats how it works, right?
hockeyTom
Just read a big story about this on msn. Until business reagins any kind of confidence there will be no recovery period. Shrub is still extremely vulnerable as it relates to the economy. Two tax cuts thus far, and two complete strike outs for Shrub, now what?

Maybe a third tax cut or another war will do the trick. Surely this voodoo economics will work at some point.

Speaking of tax cuts, did all you people who bitched about the tax cuts,,,,, put your money where your mouth is and send it back?
shawnq
Have all you people who bitch about paying taxes stopped driving on our roads, stopped going to parks, volunteered to serve on a police force, fire department, or in the military without compensation or equipment, or a myriad of other things. It's about as stupid as asking people to send their tax cut back.
PhillyFan
errrr so once again, everyone who bitched about the tax cut when it needed to go to pay off the natl debt... who sent it back? or who gladly took it... Way to stand up for what you think... good job there guys.

Phillyfan, I think your missing the point, The tax base is used to fund programs that many people use, so telling people to send it back is a little silly don't you think? I do understand your point too...I for one am more concerned about the national debt than any other issue I can think off. There was a great story about how the way the cuts were done the Feds will not see any improvement to the bottom line even if the GDP grows at 10% Let me see if I can find and post it

The way you stood up for what you thought - by signing up for the military and fighting in Iraq?

I'm sorry, was I supposed to receive a tax cut? I haven't noticed one dime of change in my take-home pay, and I certainly am not getting the "I'm a yuppie with kids" hand-out that recently began to be distributed.

Thank you, I looked at my check for July and didn't see one, so maybe it'll be in the one for August. W did say today or yesterday that the solution for our economic doldrums was even more tax cuts, so that broken record has yet to be fixed!
