AP-Moon Disappears From Sky! Bush Is To Blame, Says Kerry

At shortly after 9 p.m. EDT this evening, the moon slowly disintegrated from the evening sky over the Eastern seaboard, disappearing entirely at 10:23 p.m. EDT.

Democrat presidential nominee John F. Kerry blamed Bush for the disappearance. "Earlier this evening, it was right there in the night sky." Kerry droned monotonously as he pumped a finger upward. "It vanished right under his nose -- or rather went over his head -- on his watch. Did the president notice as it was stolen away? And who is to say if it will be used against us at a later time, possibly creating tidal floods that will cover the entire Atlantic Coast. This is a concerted effort on the part of the president and his environmental opponents to have the Moon affect the weather in Florida, hoping to cause more hurricanes that will hit that state and earn him more votes.

"When I am president I will never play tricks with the Moon or turn it blood red right before Halloween in a veiled attempt to scare our children and raise the terror alert level."

President Bush blamed Sadam for the disappearance. "Earlier this evening, it was right there in the night sky." Bush droned stumbling for a complete sentence as he pumped a finger upward. "It vanished right under, er.. from under, er... beneath, yeah! beneath our noses. Sadam has it and we must prevent him from puttin' the moon in the hands of ter-rists. And who is to say if it will be used against us at a later time, possibly creating tidal floods that will cover the entire Atlantic Coast.
