Where are people like Rummy and Condi and Colin. Did they fall off the face of the earth like Mary Cheney?

This morning, my boss said, "Did you see last night? Wasn't it disgusting?" I replied that I couldn't watch because i was already disgusted enough as it is.
Then he made a football reference and i realized he was talking about the A&M/Utah game.

Which was, by the way, disgusting, and I"m a Texas fan.

Love them or hate them, the Republicans did what the majority of the people in this country want their leaders to do in an open democracy: they bared their souls, or their teeth, depending on your point of view. I don't think their opponents can get away with doing anything less. Instead of attacking Bush - and Kerry can no more match the unethical tactics of his opponents than we as a nation can match the unethical tactics of the terrorists - Kerry should bare his true feelings on the Vietnam War.
He has to stop waffling and speak truth to power.

It just dawned on me; the Democrats had our last two Democratic presidents, one unsuccessful in office (Carter), the other a tremendous success in many ways (Clinton) speak, yet I can't recall either Ford nor W's daddy, who was president just 12 years ago, speaking at this convention. Am I wrong?
Did George H. W. Bush speak at all? If not, don't people think that's a bit odd, given that 1) he is W's father; 2) he was the last Repuglican president before W--and the last elected one we had; 3) his policies mesh in numerous ways with W's; and 4) he's actually ABLE to speak coherently and persuasively when he wants to. BTW, where is Ford?
