Count one vote for Kerry in the all-important Florida. Now all you other battleground state people have to do your part.
Shrub must go!

I am voting early today as well. We have early voting available for the next 2 weeks. I will be voting against Amendment 36 so we don't have another court battle to determine the election this year.
For those who haven't heard of Amendment 36 I like it in theory, puts the popular vote more in play, but it needs to be done nationwide not in just one state. It also takes us out of any kind of close race spotlight, like we are in now, no canidate is going to invest in CO if they are only going to gain 1 or 2 electoral votes. Sure it would have given Gore the race in 2000 but this is not the answer.

Puckman, in Florida, early voting starts today. It's separate from absentee. Basically, you can vote at specified locations in each county up until November 2nd. I was #22 in Monroe County at 9:05 am. Those damn early birds beat me again!

Early voting here in Texas started today and runs thru the 29th. I just want the Bushmonkey to get less in Texas than he did in 2000 (he got only 59% in 2000)...that'll send a message!

KeyWest, I voted for Kerry too!! Yeah!! I also voted to increase the minimum wage from $5.15 to $6.15. It should be a crime it was so low to start with. Thanks again to Governor pumpkin head Jeb Bush!! Did you hear him over the weekend about the poor repug areas being hit so hard by the hurricanes that there will be less votes for his evil twin Dubya. Yeah, right!! He's already trying to come up with an excuse for his bother losing so bad to Kerry in Florida.
Bought Fahrenheit 9/11 on DVD this weekend and we watched it Saturday night. We were SHOCKED!! Made voting for Kerry all the more better!!

gadbearr, you definitely sound like an enlightened voter!! I did catch the interview with Jeb (pumkinhead) Bush yesterday. Interesting that the hurricanes affected primarily the Repug. areas of Florida. Do you believe in karma? I do!!!

WOW! Just got back from the early voting place and it was packed! Two weeks from the election and turnout is already high.
Vote now if your state offers early voting, you never know what can happen between now and Nov. 2nd that may prevent you from voting at all (illness, accident, anything).

Good news on 2 fronts today. I got my absentee ballot today, so mark up another one for Kerry

, and I got an e-mail from the Kerry camp. We have decided to keep fighting in Colorado, and we think it is winnable. Previously this state looked solid red, but now its a game!

My partner and I mailed our absentee ballots last week, 2 votes for Kerry. Although here in San Francisco it's a lock for Kerry!
Neither candidate is doind any advertising here in the very liberal Bay Area, although Bush does have his supporters down in Silicon Valley.

Add me to the list!!! I early voted a couple of hours ago. Although it won't mean a lot in Kansas, as Bush will easily take it, I think Kerry will have more votes than Gore did 4 years ago.

Voted early on Tuesday, was so hyper all day, guilt about not voting in the last election. Loved it.
Have been very vocal at work, looked up on the net then gave out early voting places for different counties to people that I knew were for Kerry.
Got into an argument with a lady about Bush being a "Christian" and that's why she's voting for him, I proceeded to tell her that his account of walking on the beach with Billy was nothing more than a "made for TV" sitcom. True or not, it shut her up. Think I actually changed one guys vote (not the never been married 50ish year old Methodist lady that only goes to church when driving her mother which she continues to live with, the same gal I had the "friendly partisan spat"). That is something to be hyper about especially in Texas, "Bush Country", bought and paid for.
Even went so far as to buy some of those plastic magnatic yellow ribbons "Support our Troops", then added, "Send Bush." Only one guy complained about making a "political statement". Though I was afraid people might think it would be minimizing the troops, everyone loved them (all but one).

A small point: John Kerry is a baptized Christian too.

I early voted yesterday (for Kerry) and for Martin Frost over Pete Sessions. I know my Kerry vote won't count here in Bush Hell, but hopefully Frost will prevail over Tom DeLay's redistricting plot.

Just an update-- went to vote today and the poll had a line of about 40 people waiting just to sign in to vote--another 5 tables of people signing in, and another line of 30 or so people to get to the booths they had. The lady in front of me said she had been there 2 hrs earlier and the line stretched around the corner of the hall, so she left and came back. I must say they were very fast and efficient for having so many people, and we used the dreaded touch screen voting booths. This was in Richardson (land of Jessica Simpson).
No matter whos voting for who, its a good thing so many are turning out in this area. There were several people there who hadnt voted before as adults, and at least one 18 yr old (totally cute I might add) with his mother. And there was some more eye candy ahead of me with a bubble butt, so the whole political process can be worth your time!
