Gotta love it...

Ex-Gay Leader Goes Down-er, I mean, Experiences \"Moral Fall\"
wade n atlanta
This leader of Ex-gays is just further proof that we do not become gay as a choice to do so. If someone in this position, who touts and brags of his claims to overcome homosexuality, cannot live his life without practicing gay sex, then who can?
None out there has more to lose than this man if he were to be found out, and yet he could not even be discrete enough to remain hidden. This story speak volumes.

It's disturbing enough that Johnston headed up a shambolic ex-gay organization that probably screwed up the lives of countless gay men and lesbians and advanced homophobia and heterosexism. But if he was such a "Christian," could he not have disclosed his HIV status to the men he was having these orgies with? And now this poor wreck is in another anti-gay "treatment" center somewhere? Maybe an ex-ex-gay associate can rescue him....

Johnston and his ilk are pathetic, self-hating, lying individuals. Pity his sexual contacts. frown

What I think is most interesting and fascinating about this story is the way the "pro-family" and "ex-gay" types are talking about it. They claim their cause is not sullied just because this guy fell into "sexual sin" (and apparently is now in a 6-month minimum residential treatment facility to work on his problem some more - God only knows what they are doing to him there).

BUT the whole point of the "ex-gay" movement is that these people moved from homosexuality to heterosexuality. Yet, the "falls" by Paulk, Johnson and so many others just show that this is a fallacy. The real truth is these guys and gals are simply refraining from homosexual relationships (and not so well, in some cases) - their basic orientation has not changed.

If people want, for religious or social reasons, to be in heterosexual relationships, or remain celibate, because they believe homosexuality is immoral, far be it from any of us to question that choice. But to insist the choice means an end to the true sexual orientation is an outright lie, and it is time for that lie to be exposed.

As an aside, I wonder how much press Wayne Bensen's book that exposes the "ex-gay" lie will get - it is due for publication soon.

well said, Cpt_Doom....I, too, find it ironic, to say the least, that the advocates of the "ex-gay" movement are remaining as steadfast as ever in continuing to preach their ludicrous message....how many more "falls" will it take (particularly from one of their own heirarchy? eek! ) before they rightfully acknowledge that this "cure" they claim exists is an absolute fallacy?....Paulk and Johnson have done more for our community regarding this issue as a result of their actions than countless hours of speeches by Ms. Birch and the HRC could ever have accomplished.

This is really a very sad story any way you look at it. Sad that anyone thinks they need to change, sad that these losers failed at something they evidently thought had value, sad that guys were helplessly exposed to HIV, and sad how many resources are being spent on conning people into what I believe is A HUGE LIE.

There were probably times in may of our lives before we came to terms with ourselves that we may have wanted to change, it might have been the easier path. I was married to a woman for 15 years and fathered three children - those of you who have been down this road know it would have been easier to change, I wish I could have, I was more than willing.....

But I love my husband now and my kids love me and my ex-wife will be okay some day (we hope) and not one red cent went to these morons who think we need to change, or for that matter, can.

"Moral fall" reminds me of the lyric in the Eminem song:

"What? Trip , fell ,landed on his d**k?!"
