Some good points in this interesting article by Andrew Sullivan; thanks for posting it. The challenge to the post-W GOP will be maintaining its momentum without one who has come to be seen by it as a charismatic leader. If it can do so, it will continue to defeat disarrayed Democrats. If not, especially if the RR continues to fractionalize from within, the Demos will make gains, provided they get their act together and regain some much-needed credibility. For me, as a moderate GOPer of the Libertarian stripe, this is an opportunity to marginalize the RR. Whether we're able to do so remains to be seen, but the article calls the issues right.

Wait...gmgsinfo, you describe yourself as a moderate GOPer in this thread, yet you described yourself as a conservative in the Terry Schaivo:
QUOTE
I'm not the only conservative or GOPer who finds the meddlings of Congress, the FL state legislature and others outside the immediate families way out of line;
As I understand moderates/conservatives in the GOP, that's quite a few degrees of difference.

It's kind of like "Big Government" is BAD when it's helping the poor without healthcare, cleaning up the environment etc., but really, really GOOD when regulating gay marriage and medical marijuana.

You got it HornFan...that's my take exactly.
If an Aggie and a Longhorn agree, then it's gotta be right. wink
