Jeez...it seems to me that if everyone else is on board, why the FU@K do politicians care?!?!? I mean, for crying out loud, if most Fortune 500 companies are on board, and if a state government system has already gone thru a process and decided this is a good outcome, who the hell is Johnny Homophobe politician to have a beef???

First of all, where the hell was he when this was being decided? Shows what he was/wasn't paying attention to... Second, it's insulting to everyone involved, and to the decision-making process itself, to get sanctimonious after the fact just because you/your party doesn't like the outcome.

Attitude check: Yes, if this were a matter regarding race, or, if the shoe were on the other foot and the state decided NOT to give equal partner benefits, I would, in fact, be screaming "Bloody Murder". Therefore, I will respect Senator Jerkface's due process right or whatever to make a big stink and pursue any legislative remedy that is avail. to him.

Hopefully, this process will demonstrate to him and his homophobic/heterosexist cronies that there ain't nothin' wrong with giving benefits to queers and, more importantly, that straight people (gasp!) think it's a good idea.
