Orrin Hatch: "I believe the time has now come to address the antiquated provision of the Constitution that requires our president to be a natural born citizen"
Ahnold for President!!
(or if you're a Dem, maybe Michigan Gov. Granholm ...)
... and a case of art imitating (or predicting) life:
"Even though he was not born in this country, his popularity at the time caused the 61st Amendment" -- Sandra Bullock, explaining the "Schwarzenegger Presidential Library" in the 1993 flick "Demolition Man".

just wait 'til all the dirty laundry about Arnold comes out as he tries to become Gov. There's no way in hell he's gonna last 4 weeks under the microscope.
He's gonna learn that celebrities are under scrutiny. But it's nuthin compared to what happens in politics.
sample questions... "Mr.Schwarzenegger. You abused muscle enhancing drugs and steriods during your days as a body builder. How do you reconcile that with our effort to discourage illegal drug use in this country?"
or.. "Mr.Schwarzenegger. You have admitted in previous interviews many years ago, to having dalliances with other women while married to Maria Shriver. At the time, you described it as not infidelity because the women were only "polishing the helmet". What would you like to say about that now?"
Good luck Ahnold. You won't be back.

Every time I hear speculation about Arnold running for governor here in CA, I can't help but remember Sandra Bullock's line and chuckle. If Reagan could become president, why not Arnold?

Beachjock, isn't the goal not to lower the standards to unspeakable levels, but to raise them with regard to whom we elect to be president?

I know this is the land of the free and the home of the brave but, they need to keep that provision.
If not we could have had Madeline Albright running for President. And who wants that?!
Somehow something that actually upholds our Constituion is antequated, yet the Repubs wants to add something as stupid as banning gay marriage to it? Gee why dont they just rip the whole thing up and wipe with it, while theyre at it.
