"The good news is that 85% of crime in Dallas is property crime..."-- Mayor Laura Miller quoted on CBS 11 newscast tonight, commenting on Dallas being #1 yet again in crime rate in the USA.

This is part of the reason Dallas had this problem because its politicians and police see crime as a positive. The former chief Terrell Bolton once said "well if people didnt have so much stuff in their garages, then they wouldnt park in their driveways and their cars wouldnt be broken into". He was fired and then sued because he claimed it was racial.
