To those Hoosiers here, condolences on the death of your governor. He was a great man, a good governor, and a very kind and charming person.
It's too bad his kind is a rarity among politicians of either party.
It was sad to hear of his massive stroke early in the week here in Chicago; it was even sadder to learn of his death Saturday morning.

Nice post, MIB. He was indeed a kind and caring man, and that is too much a rarity in politics. We will miss him greatly.
I sometimes wished I lived in Indiana, if for no other reason I could have voted for him--enthusiastically. Sure beats our ambitious little prick Blagojevich.

It is too bad that we took him for granted and now after he has gone unexpectedly, we appreciate him even more! The Sunday New York Times had an article plus a nice obituary with a great photograph for him! That is quite impressive for a folksy state governor!
