My Seattle Mariners missed the playoffs again this year, but they have a true winner in Jamie Moyer who received the Roberto Clemente humanitarian award.

I like Jamie Moyer, Marc, and I am not just saying that because the M's missed the playoffs. He is a quality pitcher--maybe a little too nice at times--but definitely very effective at 40. Oh, and man did he look hot in that suit!

He really deserves that award, Jamie seems like one of the nicest guys in baseball! He could probably pitch well into his mid 40's with that slow change-up.
Marc
Cattledog and Mike T, I concur with both of you. Good pitcher, good looking, good man...who could ask for more! And if I'm not mistaken, Jamie will be the oldest active pitcher now that Roger Clemens played his final game last night.

I couldn't agree with you guys more....not only is Moyer one of the most consistent winners in the majors (and proves that you don't have to throw the ball 98 MPH in order to be a quality major league pitcher) but, as the column Marc linked details, he is without a doubt one of the classiest guys in the game....considering the Cubs, Rangers, Orioles and Red Sox all COMPLETELY gave up on this guy, it is great to see him having so much success in Seattle....it truly couldn't happen to a nicer guy and to echo Cattledog's comment, Jamie did look awfully good sitting in the front row in that suit on Tuesday night. smile.gif
