Ralph Nader announced this weekend that he will shortly decide whether he will once again run for president this year. He does say that if he chooses to do so, he will run as an Independent and not as a candidate of the Green Party or any other organized party.
When asked why, his explanation was that if he were to run, it would strengthen the Democratic Party and bring out true liberals to vote in numbers greater than they would vote if it were just Bush against the Democrat. "My entry into the race would benefit the Democratic Party and be a good thing for Democrats in November," said Nader.

Here's a
previous thread about Nader, who is apparently proving to be an idiot.

He needs to stop acting out against the Democratic Party. Yes, they piss me off too, severely, and outside of some of the local officials I've voted for, like NJ governor Jim McGreevey (who just signed a Domestic Partnership bill, making NJ fifth in the country to go this route), I would rather have more progressive people in office. But Nader, who proclaims to be so "against" W and his shenanigans, will only help him get reelected if he doesn't cut this crap out.
