Shot in Arizona

I saw this on the Hot Jock Talk feature on the main Outsports website. Bad, bad, bad.

It is so sick that this keeps happening more and more in connection with professional sports - from NFL, NBA, etc. and now the MLB. I hate to say it, but it has to all be connected to drugs. What a sorry state of affairs. frown

The most recent news I have read about this tragic icident indicates that Stenson had been run over by his own car as well as dragged behind it. It's also been said that homicides in the state of Az are at an all-time high to the point where there aren't enough men to go around and investigate properly. Evidentally, just as they are in "the crucial 72nd hour" they are called away to another investigation.

Sad commentary from another part of our nation where there didn't used to be a problem.

Here's the lead story in the Sunday's Republic:

and the piece about Stenson:

The suspects were taken into custody over the weekend, charged with first-degree murder, robbery, and kidnapping.

Deep background on Dernell Stenson's murder from the Boston Globe, including tributes from his treammates and friends.

"He was a class act from day one. He was a great kid, very quiet, always very polite. 'No sir, yes, sir.' Very professional. He had a future..." - Rick Burleson

Rest in peace, Dernell Stenson.

One of the suspects has been identified as being in the Witness Protection Program! He is now missing after posting bail. This story just gets more bizarre every day.

Why Do They All Get Relocated to Arizona Anyway?
