What's up with these Brewers? 8 in a row? Who'd have thought?....

Reviving a very old thread here ... the Brewers are on the brink of finishing above .500 for the first time since 1992. At 73-73 today. The good news: ten games against the likes of the Cubs, Reds and Pirates. But tough series at the Astros this weekend (but no Petite or Clemens) and then next week vs. Cards.

And -- don't laugh -- watch out next year. Terrific infield of Ryan Braun (first round draft pick) at 3rd, returning rookies: my man J.J. Hardy at SS, Ricky Weeks at 2nd and big Junior Fielder at 1st. Good power from Jenkins, C. Lee, and Brady Clark in the outfield. Solid pitching from Capuano, Shields, Davis, even Okha and a kick-a** closer in Turnbow. Need help in long relief.

I read last season that one of the baseball rags had ranked the players in the Brewers farm system as top in MLB (for what that's worth) -- but it is coming to fruition.

Finish .500 this year -- WC in 2006.

Some early off-season excitement in beertown: Robin Yount is coming back to the Brewers as their bench coach.

and for those keeping score (probably just me I guess) -- they did reach their goal this year of finishing .500.

All bodes well ...

Well, DC, Just for the record, my Buccos did take two out of three from the Brewers in the last series of the season (yur' boys were really hoping to get OVER.500!)....I'm thinkin' that our two teams are the up and comers in the NL Central this upcoming season. Anyway, dude, I doubt we'll have many of our pals chiming in on a thread about the Brewers and Pirates!! haha...

So how do the Brewers reward their fans after getting to .500 for the first time in years? That's right, they raise ticket prices!
Steve M.
Well to be fair its the first raise in prices in over 3 years and its 3 dollars a seat, big whoop. They are using it to spend more on salaries so thats fine with me especially if we sign Washburn.
