Not yet, but the Tigers have released him.
Bobby Higginson took out a full-page ad in Sunday's Detroit News and Free Press to thank the Tigers and their fans on the final day of his 11th and likely final season with the club. He thanked the club for giving him the chance to live out his dream of being a professional ballplayer. He also referenced the \"greatest sports fans in the world.\"
The ad is essentially a farewell thank-you from Higginson, whose surgery on his right elbow did not allow him an opportunity to play in a farewell game. His contract expires at season's end, and he is not expected to be re-signed. Unless the situation changes, his last game as a Tiger took place May 5 against the Red Sox.
