I'd better get to the local library pronto. The list of the most dangerous books in the world (and the runners up) include a few I have not yet read:
http://www.humaneventsonline.com/article.php?id=7591BTW, It's
Origin of Species not
Origin of The Species (which implies only one species is discussed), or to give the full title,
The Origin of Species by Means of Natural Selection or the Preservation of Favored Races in the Struggle for Life And being a biologist of course I've read it.

I had to laugh when I read the list. Other than Feminine Mystique most were on my reading list at high school and University. In fact Communist Manifesto was high school reading in a history course on social/political revolution.Apparently education standards differ now. I gather anything that leads to discussion of social policy/equality or religion/sex is dangerous in the US. Explains a lot really.
