Take the quiz and see where you land. I ended up as a LEFT LIBERAL.
QUOTE
Left-Liberal
Left-Liberals generally embrace freedom of choice in personal matters, but support central decision-making in economics. They want the government to help the disadvantaged in the name of fairness. Liberals tend to tolerate social diversity, but work for what they might describe as \"economic equality.\"
Your Personal issues Score is 90%.
Your Economic issues Score is 30%.

I'm scared to take those tests because I'm worried they will confirm what I suspect: that I'm a fascist!

Red dot on the gray line under libertarian, on the grid intersection toward the left. About right I suppose for me.

Left liberal, big surprise. 100% libertarian on personal freedom, 0% big gov on economic freedom, whatever that means.
TomFord, are you channeling our former interlocutor William1865?

Centrist, just at the intersection of the liberal, libertarian and centrist zones.

I scored centrist, which is about right for most Canadians.
60% on both personal and economic.

fantomas, no. And I'm really not a fascist at heart. (But I do occassionally entertain nutty 19th century-type fantasies of revamping welfare and the penal system through stringent socioeconomic controls coupled with forced education and work...that whole reformation of the individual thing that got debunked).

I think this quiz is a bit too short and narrow to be taken seriously. And notice that in the results column below the quiz that the largest group (34% of respondents) are classified as Liberterian. Considering Liberterian candidates usually get 1-2% of the popular vote and this quiz is sponsored by the Liberterian Party.....well, I would say they've chosen questions that would lean toward a wanted result.

I actually was just referring to your increasingly frequent brief and funny posts. William, when he was clicking, could be VERY funny.

Didn't check the personal and economic rating last time so I took it again. Waffled on block to the left so I'm "squarely" in the triple point where "centrist", "libertarian" and "left meet". Not sure what I changed this time. May have been the draft.
Personal 80%
Economic 50%

Since I have this allergy to the "P&R" threads, I didn't see the political affilation quiz until just now. It seems rather inaccurate since it is really only asking you 10 basic questions. For what it is worth (and I think I am a little bit more central than what this said), I was told I was a "Left-Liberal", Personal 80%, Economic 30%.

The questions are simplistic. For example: "There should be no National ID card." Many people consider their Social Security card as an ID, even though it's not supposed to be...
QUOTE
SSA’s policy is that the Social Security card is not an identity document. The card only verifies that the SSN on the card is assigned to an individual whose name is on the card. It does not verify that the person presenting the card is the person named on the card.
Therefore, the January 1946 version of the card first contained the language at the bottom of the card reading \"FOR SOCIAL SECURITY PURPOSES -- NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION.\" Then the language was changed beginning with the September 1961 version of the card to read: FOR SOCIAL SECURITY AND TAX PURPOSES – NOT FOR IDENTIFICATION”. However, the language was removed beginning with the January 1972 version of the card because it was confusing to employers and others who viewed it because they were not sure whether to accept it as evidence of the individual’s SSN. The language has not been on subsequent versions of the card.
So on the quiz, if a person's anti-Social Security they might say they agree with the statement but if they're for Social Security they might answer that they disagree with it.

Yes, "Joe in Philly" the questions are simplistic, but that does not mean it's not interesting. That few of questions cannot go into the intricacies of each political subject.
I took a quiz this past February, and it said i I should vote for Al Sharpton. I took a quiz in July and it said I should vote for Kerry. This quiz says I am a libertarian-I think that's about as different as you can get over a 6-month period. LOL

I came up as a "centrist" leaning liberal. I already knew that as I consider myself extremely liberal on social issues and moderate on fiscal matters.
