I guess all these employers didnt hear how great the economy was.

Looks like the one time boost the economy may have gotten from the tax cut for the wealthy is wearing off. Time for another one!

Its always time for a tax cut for Bush, no matter what.

Layoffs are up 125% because of DOMA.

Sure is silence on this from the right though, eh? Sometimes the truth is hard to swallow.
PhillyFan
yeah, but this report fails to say what the job creation rate was... hence, this is not an accurate figure in the total jobs lost/gained for the month...

carry on with your one sided reporting.. good job

PhillyFan went to blow his last tax cut check and buy a 6 pack of Pabst Blue Ribbon.
PhillyFan
Yeah, didnt you send yours back? I gave you the addy man...

BURP.

This proves what everyone has been predicitng -- this is an "economic rebound" that is not "trickling down". Look at the bright side, there are a lot of employment opportunities available in Iraqnam for Americans. All they have to do is apply (oops, I meant to say enlist).

And Razor, notwithstanding my political differences with PF, I have to come to the aid of my friend -- he is not a Pabst kind of guy smile.gif

Nor moonshine either like some MD...

PhillyFan
i wasnt saying that you drank moonshine... You'd have to be from hillbilly land to truely know moonshine... and how to have grandma make it.

Well - with all of these Bush layoffs there may be some real opportunities for employment in the moonshine sector wink

Does Roscoe's sell moonshine??
PhillyFan
moonshine, i think that can be found in places like say.... ARK, and just brought with them to say.....TX....

I wonder how many people have given up on looking for work? Those numbers wouldn't be included in this statistic. Oh, yeah, we still have a pointless war going on...more bad news for the repugs...

I for one hope Bush runs hard on the jobs issue.
3.1 million jobs lost since he's been in office.

Sorry there Raze, with all this BAD economic news, perhaps we'll have a few deaths for you to be happy about over in Iraq...

Please contact your hero and ask him to run on the jobs issue, its sure to be a winner for your fellow chickenhawk.
William1865
Republicans ran on the jobs issue in MS and KY, it seemed to work rather well. In KY, the Dems linked Ernie Fletcher directly to Bush, and cast the race as a referendum on Bush's economic policies. Who won that race? Not like it matters or anything, as Raze will tell you...

The point that I am trying to make is that the war isn't the ONLY issue...just as the economy isn't the ONLY issue...just as "homeland insecurity" isn't the ONLY issue...just as civil rights isn't the ONLY issue. The Rebugs are vulnerable and MY (and Raze's) democratic leaders need someone who can carry that message to the 'Merikan people.

PF - If you or William ever get killed in military action I promise I wont "be happy."

Of course for that to happen you would have to join the military....
and for that to happen
you would have to develop a backbone and we all know thats not going to happen, so...

Carry on being a chickenhawk wuss, oh and
Tally ho!! smile.gif smile.gif

That argument never gets old for you, does it Raze? Is this like a lefty recycling thing? Instead of using new arguments, you just use the same one over and over and over. Guess that's why all the Dem pres candidates sound the same... (But then, I'm not running for the Dem nomination, so I'm probably not allowed to criticize those brave souls who are.)

Well, actually Haley Barbour ran as a friend of W and Co, (FOWACKO) (and on a not-so-subtle neo-Confederate platform--as of the other day he was still showing his fat mug on the Conservative Citizens' Council website and brandishing that Stars-and-Bars pin) down in Mississippi, and in Kentucky the new guy ran against whorish and sleazy Paul Patton.

OH NO...

126k new jobs? 3rd month in a row... unemployment drops to 6%... yes, dems are breaking into a cold sweat...
RazorbackTX
George Herbert Hoover Bush -

Please, please, please run on the jobs issue, please.

First president since the depression to preside over a job loss.
araanib
No, we're not. Believe it or not, there are many points on which Mr. Bush is open for criticism. Just because the economy is not as bad as it was but still worse than under Clinton, doesn't mean W's free from attack.
CPT_Doom
Of course, this data misses the point that the manufacturing sector continues to lose jobs, and that over 8 million people are still out of work, many of them now losing their unemployment benefits and dropping out the job market (one of the ways that unemployment numbers can artificially drop).

It could be we are heading into a recovery - the question is - will everyone recover. It seems like deja vu for the Reagan era - the economy boomed, but the expansion certainly did not "raise all boats." Given the only methods Bush and CO. can come up with to boost the economy are tax cuts for their friends and and increase in military spending (again, deja vu for the Reagan era), it is highly doubtful that all sectors of the economy are or will improve.

HAHAHAHAHA you guys make me laugh sooo much and ya'all are grabbing at straws... you are handed what you were bitching about the last year NEW JOBS, get over it... lose the W hatred. and the ray-gun hatred.

Why do you hate America so much PhillyFan?
PhillyFan
well i was gonna ask you all why you hate capitalism so much.. but i already know why... you're commies... carry on!
bobby78751
CBS Evening News just reported that for the 39th consecutive month, factory layoffs have increased. Most of these "new jobs" were created in the service industry and are for the most part seasonal hires. One-tenth of one percent of job growth doesn't mean squat in the big picture. Get back to me after 6 strong quarters which euals a REAL recovery. Geez, in the Bill Clinton days, one-tenth of one percent of job growth would have had the Repugs gnarling their nasty teeth...now, they are as happy as Bob Dole on Viagra.
CPT_Doom
What really galls me is, although I haven't heard it yet, very soon the White House will start crowing how its tax cuts caused the "recovery" when, in actuality and just like the Reagan years, it is actually being fueled by that old Keynsian mechanism - massive outlays of government spending - Mr. Bush's little war is creating the fuel for this mini-expansion - not his beloved tax cuts.
hockeyTom
I hear ya, but don't tell Shrub about that!
JC
You're absolutely correct Cpt_Doom. It's not exactly a secret that you can stimulate an economy by running a massive deficit.
