Protest events and goings-on, along with a Washington Monument concert feat. Le Tigre and Thievery Corporation:
http://www.unitedforpeace.org/article.php?...st=type&type=91http://www.opceasefire.org/As I'm already coming that weekend for a Mets-Nationals game or two, I suppose I'll try to link up with some NYC activist acquaintances for marching ... but WHY oh why has the anti-war theme been "dramatically expanded" to a "Peace & Justice Festival"??? The inability of the Lib/Left to STAY ON-MESSAGE is part of why the Election-Stealing Evildoers kick our ass most of the time.

Is anyone here going to these events this weekend? Just wondering. Oh, there is another website called
Impeach Bush that has some really cool links to show impeachment processes through history and an outline of the impeachment process for Bush.

I'm going to the SF rally.
As far as impeachment...not that it isn't deserved but would Cheney be an improvement? I saw a woman with a peitition to impeach Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld and Ashcroft (then Attorney General). Which means Dennis Hastert as Speaker of the House would become president. Oi vey!

I will be in DC and at least attend the Washington Monument rally.

What about the Cuban Memorial?

I have to look at the events to see just what is going on, but I will probably attend something that weekend. I don't know that I am in favor of an immediate withdrawl from Iraq - I don't want to see us screwing the Iraqi people that badly, AGAIN - but I certainly am in agreement that this administration has made war on false pretenses, with bad planning, and a constant refusal to accept reality and make changes to their strategy. It is not bad enough that they lied their way into war, it is worse that they proved incompentent in its execution.

So Cap'n, is the protest in DC meant to convince the administration to prosecute the war more efficiently and competently? If so, save a place at the barricades for me! wink
Great op-ed in the weekend WSJournal, BTW, urging that the Iraq-Syria border be mined, and why it would be both smart and safe - except for infiltrating insurgents - to do so.

Are you pushing for even a shred of competence out of the W Administration folks? Are you willing to admit that they haven't prosecuted the war "efficiently or competently"? (I love the delicacy of your phrasing.) There must be a God!
Hey, while you're at it, ask the screwups from W and Cheney and Rummy and Condi on down where that $1 billion+ that was stolen from the Iraqi Defense Ministry in just EIGHT MONTHS went. Inquiring minds (and pockets) want to know!

The Iraqi people will be screwed no matter when we leave. Staying a couple more years is going to make no difference.
Moderators, what the hell do you do around here?

Apart from MdB's rhetorical "oi vey," the only thing that could conceivably bring a moderator into this thread was your own "what the hell ..., " Bill W.
FT, a careful reading of the post I replied to - yes, there is logic! - will provide you with the source of one of my adverbs; the other is a rough translation. As you well know, I've said many times that the Administration could be doing a better job on all fronts, most recently our Southern one, although I suspect we differ on exactly how that might be accomplished.

You're the biggest drooling idiot imaginable. If you ever want to meet up and have a physical fight, I'm game. Gloves in the ring, or bare mitts elsewhere.
I still laugh to this day!

OK, I've completely lost track of this thread. Who's arguing with whom? Why are the moderators being mentioned at all? When did "oy vey" become a personal attack?
Ms. de Blazer

Oy vey, or oi vey, translates to "oh woe". Hardly either a personal attack or cursing.
But some people will attack anything. Except, of course, the ones responsible for the problem in the first place.
In related news, Cindy Sheehan was arrested in NYC yesterday by cops claiming they did not have the proper permits for a Union Square rally. Ms. Sheehan also invited parents of children killed in Iraq who support Bush to meet with her so they can talk. Only one man did.

MdB - I can say I'm not arguing with you! (I omitted a wink after my oy vey post, indicating I found it fun.) FYI, this Yiddish expression comes from the German, "O Wehe!," which means the same thing, and is liberally sprinkled throughout Wagner's Werks. wink
(Wink added to avoid any possible confusion/confrontation.)

OK, gmg.
Not surprising oi vey it comes from the German, although I'm not familiar with Wagner operas, as Yiddish was originally a dialect of German and is still close enough to spoken German that speakers of one can understand speakers of another.
...and I'm still going to the march Saturday!

I got one today and I have no idea why. Anyway, no one need be stalked via private messages...

When someone is on your ignore list, that person cannot send you a private message. Ignore lists have no use for anything other than private messages. You may remove people from your ignore list by unchecking the boxes next to the names. The only way to add a person to your ignore list is by accessing the person's profile or on the private message page for a particular message.

I have no hope this demo will change a thing. Best case: burn Washington, burn.
Yeah, I'm aware the moderators are useless, like most Republicans.
You're still the only one here I've called out, Che Guevara.
