What's "whacked" or "wack" or however this word gets construed about a T-shirt that states the basic fact that over 2,000 US servicemen and women have been killed, one of whom was her son? How is that acknowledge of truth "whacked," or is it the neoconservatives and chickenhawks who're the whacked out ones because they can't deal with the real outcomes of Warrentless Wiretapper's failed military policy in Iraq?
Do these dead soldiers just disappear or are they to be consigned to the dustbin of history? Is Warrantless Wiretapper so insecure as Commmander in Chief that he cannot deal, however neutral the statement of the facts, with the results of his decisions? Does anyone think that Jackson, Lincoln, Wilson, Roosevelt, Eisenhower, Kennedy, Reagan, Nixon, George HW Bush, even Clinton would have become unhinged by having the newsmedia and the parents of soldiers acknowledge the basic and undeniable fact that they'd died in the course of a war?

And Warrantless Wiretapper, a total psychopath with no sense of irony, actually uttered the following words last night:

\"No one can deny the success of freedom, but some men rage and fight against it.
***
We love our freedom, and we will fight to keep it.\"
Let's see--what freedom exactly is he fighting--he, Mr. AWOL himself--to keep?

Why wasn't Congressman Young's wife arrested? How was her shirt less of a political statement?
Because (a) Mrs. Young didn't attempt to unfurl a banner, and (

I think maybe they should do a makeover on her or something. So then she doesnt look like such a skanky ho. Fix her hair, paint the nails, maybe a lil makeup.
I dunno, maybe a shower..

Maybe she could cook dinner every once and a while if the next guy doesnt dump her ass before then...
Just sayin.

The statement about unfurling a banner seems to be an ABSOLUTE LIE, seeing as how there seem to be no sources for this story.
For example, it's not mentioned at all in this story... QUOTE
Capitol Police dropped a charge of unlawful conduct against antiwar activist Cindy Sheehan on Wednesday and apologized for ejecting her and a congressman's wife from President Bush's State of the Union address for wearing T-shirts with war messages.
How typical of the RepubliScum that they're trying to distort what happened while they take away our freedoms.
PF, it is not uncommon for someone who has lost a loved one, especially someone who loses a child or parent or spouse, to literally lose it. The grief can turn to rage and a host of other things, and the grieving one can just go nuts. It appears Ms. Sheehan is an example of this, sadly. frown

Calling Sheehan 'wacked' is missing the whole point: the woman lost her 24 year old son, in the prime of his life. Her grief is probably more than most of us on this board have ever known, so how can she be called wacked? Don't we as good Americans appreciate those people who stand up for what they believe? Even if we don't agree with them? Grief--when's the last time you dealt with it?
QUOTE
shore:

You really don't want to know the answer to that question.
As I said, grief over the death of someone so close to you, particularly the death of a child, can often lead to someone developing psychological problems. Ms. Sheehan is a textbook example of this. Heck, as PF earlier had mentioned, her husband left her because of this, having said she just lost it and was "nuts." I'll trust his opinion over anyone else's, including my own.

What did Cindy's banner say MIB?
Who knows? She never got the chance to unfurl it from what the news reports said.

As a matter of fact MIB, I might be interested in knowing about your grief seeing as how you use it to pass judgement on someone else, and rather insensitive judgement at that.
It is not insensitive to state facts, especially when the same was said by her own husband.

Tue Jan 31, 2006 9:13 PM ET - Sheehan was arrested after unveiling a banner and was being held on Capitol Hill for about an hour, which would keep her away from the address, which was set to start at 9 p.m. EST.
It was also mentioned on several blogs, including the Democratic underground and a couple left-wing ones.

Actually, that full quote should read: CNN said Sheehan was arrested..... It seems that all of the news accounts MIB refers to quote CNN as their source. However, CNN's later, updated version says nothing about a banner, just a shirt.
Sheehan and her shirt Interesting in that the original Reuters story quoted above by MIB does the opposite: mentions a banner, but nothing about a shirt. Perhaps CNN just f'ed up the first story and nobody else bothered to check facts.
If blogs reference news outlets such as CNN, MSNBC, or others, yes.
There. This matter is now closed. Back to Cindy on the Dr. Phil show.

MIB with a source? LOL ...thats a good one. Maybe he was watching Fox "News" which from some right-wing blog I just checked out, first reported that Sheehan unfurled a banner. Then the story was that she tried to unfurl a banner, then another report was that she had a banner on her. However, all the real news reports say she was arrested because of her shirt having a slogan on it which is against Chamber tradition. Its doubtful that she would have a banner considering the level of security that guests must go thru when the President is speaking. She would have been screened, checked, and frisked before ever entering the Capitol. Also notice that reports say she was arrested at 8:30pm....the speech didn't start until 9:00.
It was also very sad, disturbing, and telling that on the right-wing (New Republic) blog I mentioned above, most of the comments were about how she was a "bitch", "media whore", "skank", "napkin user", traitor, Nazi, Socialist, and of course "America hater". But I guess thats representative of the mentality of the far right.

This broad had no business being at the SOUS speech at all. Who invited her?
This is called acting like little spoiled brats who don’t get their way. Let’s clap when he says something where we aint supposed to… let’s invite good ole Cindy to sit there with her cool little T-Shirt. Come on this is not elementary school.
It would be like inviting a certain someone to wear her stained dress during billy bobs time. Or inviting over a relative who died when the aspirin factory was bombed.
You don’t do those things when you don’t have a majority in any part of the gov’t. You sit quietly and act with class and dignity, rather than just turning off more middle of the road voters.
Assuming Cindy does get in the building, what is she doing wearing a Tshirt to an event like this? Could you be more of an idiot slob? Throw on a nice little pants suit babe. How about a cute little dress number. Maybe some nice slacks and blouse. IF the point was to just have her as your token in the crowd, fine. Just seeing that ugly unwashed face on the screen proves the point, not Kmart Tshirts you made in your garage.
Better yet, maybe she should have stopped off at the salon and got her hair washed and combed. A facial scrub so all that oil isn’t oozing off her. Possibly a boob job. You know the usual.
