Yesterday, Baltimore renamed the former PSI.net Stadium to M&T BANK STADIUM.

Now, rumors in Miami are that a deal is close to finally removing the name of a company that has been out of business for three years (Pro Player, a defunct sportswear division of Fruit of the Loom) and substituting the name of the "upscale" division of Royal Caribbean International.

I heard that, when Wayne Hizinga (sp?) bought the Dolphins and the stadium from Joe Robbie's heirs, he had the lawyers draw up two versions of the contracts - one giving him the naming rights, the second one (for less money) locking in the name "Joe Robbie Stadium" - you know which one the family chose frown

Well since the Dolphins do go on vacation in early December, the name would be rather fitting ... but from the Marlins perspective which would be worse, the fans staying away cause they thing they might catch Norwalk, or the fans staying away cause they think Kathie Lee is the new spokeswoman

Does that mean that we can call it "Cruise Park"?
