American jobs sacrificed for a Bush sweatshirt! You'll not find one item from the Kerry campaign without an AMERICAN union label on it. Even Bush is sending American work overseas. Oh, the hypocrisy!

Probably made by starving children with arthritic hands...

I wonder if William and PhillyFan the true 'Murkan patriots will send theirs back?
hockeyTom
You got that right Bobby. What a bunch of idiots in this administration. Too bad they forget to check things.

But there's more--some of the merchandise was made in Burma, yet just last year W signed into law the the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act! According to New York New York Newsday:

QUOTE
The official merchandise Web site for President George W. Bush's re-election campaign has sold clothing made in Burma, whose goods were banned by Bush from the U.S. last year to punish its military dictatorship.

The merchandise sold on www.georgewbushstore.com includes a $49.95 fleece pullover, embroidered with the Bush-Cheney '04 logo and bearing a label stating it was made in Burma, now Myanmar. The jacket was sent to Newsday as part of an order that included a shirt made in Mexico and a hat not bearing a country-of-origin label.

Bush last July signed into law the Burmese Freedom and Democracy Act, saying \"The United States will not waver from its commitment to the cause of democracy and human rights in Burma.\"

Violators of the import ban are subject to fines and jail, according to the U.S. Treasury Department.

Burmese textile workers earn as little as 7 cents per hour, according to the National Labor Committee, a human rights group.

\"If it is true, it is very contradictory because the sanctions were imposed by the Bush administration,\" said Bo Hla-Tint, a spokesman for the Burmese government-in-exile in Washington, D.C.
Oh the __________!

I'm appalled the Mush staffers couldn't find a better deal. I'm sure if they really looked they could have found starving children somewhere to make their $49.95 fleece pullovers for 5 cents an hour - heads should roll at the RNC over this awful waste of the hard working millionaire’s contributions.

I understand what you guys are saying. But you all are putting way too much blame on the WH and the staffers. The fault is with the company in Louisville KY that won the contract to supply them. a contract won probably by a donation to the WBush re-election campaign.

at some level, you have to stop micro-managing. and you certainly can't expect campaign managers to inspect the labels of jackets supplied by a contractor.
bobby78751
Of course, it's never the fault of the Punk Ass Chimp's White House. Oh, yeah, Mission Accomplished. Only children constantly refuse to take the blame for anything. "Nuh-huh, it's ain't my fault!"
Bill W
I get all my non-Burmese-made Bush gear here!
hockeyTom
Too funny Bill. I like the "I support our troops more than you do bumper sticker". biggrin.gif

You know, i have a question... it's a little off topic...

But when one goes to an communist nation that has not been recognized by our country for many many years... do you fly back or just hop in a raft to get home?
William1865
You most likely know it as Myanmar, but it will always be Burma to me.
GatorJamie
Ah, yes, William. Myanmar. We'll always have Myanmar. wink
