CNN has pulled the plug on Crossfire. This from TV Guide online:
QUOTE
Jon Stewart's a happy camper today. Just months after The Daily Show anchor went on CNN's Crossfire and ripped the show — and cohost Tucker Carlson — to shreds, the cable news net axed Carlson and his political slugfest. \"I guess I come down more firmly in the Jon Stewart camp,\" CNN CEO Jonathan Klein told the Associated Press. \"[Carlson]'s career aspirations and our programming needs just don't synch up. He wants to host his own nighttime show and we don't see that in the cards here.\" Indeed, Carlson has reportedly been in talks with MSNBC to fill Deborah Norville's prime-time slot.

Tucker Carlson with his own tv show? Yuck. No thank you. I couldn't stand to listen to his arrogance, and anti-Canadian attacks one minute longer. Now if Paul Bergala or the other guy,James Carville of Crossfire was to get a show, I would of course, be interested in this.

I do like the the CNN CEO mentioned Stewart's appearance several times in statements to the press. I think that half hour was the highlight of television in 2004. And now it seems to be doing a bit of good.
And puckman - don't be fooled - Begala and Carville are the same as Carlson, just for our side. I still wouldn't want to watch a show like that. (Especially Carville - who could watch that guy!? He creeps me out!)

Carville's even creepier in person. He and his wife, Mary Matalin, are just total publicity whores.

Jon Stewart is a self-important (though sometimes funny) liberal jackass who thinks he's going to change the world by going on a CNN show that nobody watches and telling them how much they suck. I think it's a bit of a stretch to say that an irrelevant late-afternoon shoutfest on CNN is truly "hurting America." I suppose Stewart is helping America by having celebrities come on his show and babble about their latest work while throwing softballs at Democrats. I personally am sick of this Stewart cult, my friends have all chugged the Kool-Aid but none for me, thanks.

You're right William, "crossfire" isn't the show that needed a lashing, it's the idiots on "Hannity and Colmes" that are hurting America. In particular "Hannity".

I have this weird thing about believing in a free media in which people are allowed to choose what to listen to and what to watch. I'm sure silencing conservatives would be a big help to liberals, but I still don't think it's a good idea. I'm sure Hannity would just be devastated to learn you're not a fan.

We only want to silence 1 or 2 conservatives.

Tucker Carlson's name came up a few times during the election campaigning. I found him to be an ignorant bafoon. I like a good debate, but he has nothing to bring to the table. I guess that's why he is gone from crossfire.

Ugh, Can't he(Carlson) just go away? And he should take Carville, Matlin, Coulter, Zahn and everyone at Fox news with him. Oh and I'd drink John Stewart's cool aid (or even bathwater) anytime. I just love him! Talk about a true American!!!

For what it's worth, Tucker Carlson and his wife have three or four children. My problem with him isn't his politics--there should be a wide array of views expressed though the media--but Carlson's (and Carville's) complete inability to conduct an interview. Neither knows how to ask a question that generates any information in response to it and then both interrupt whatever response is being given to ask another equally useless question.
The ever-expanding news universe allows more & more mediocrities the opportunity to host a program.

Good point, Adam. However, marriage and kids means nothing - friend of mine came out last march - married 18 years with three kids.

I agree. One of the first men I had regular sex with when I was a teenager (18) was married with 2 kids. We would connect whenever his wife and kids went to the parents for a weekend.
And the last time I talked with him (about 8 yrs ago), he was still married, and still doing the same thing.
UGH! The things you do when you are so horny you can vibrate through walls.

Sorry, I had the unfortunate luck to run into Carlson last night (or as I will now refer to him, "mini-me" - he is SHORT!) while he and his wife were in the valet que at the Palms restaurant (one of those DC power places where the real residents of this city would never be caught dead, unless they were earning a paycheck there). He struck me to be about as gay as Bill Clinton, but with less class.
He and his wife also drive a bright-orange Jeep Wrangler - the car may scream "gay" (and apparently it's his wife's), but the color sure don't.

Haven't you heard? There is a "rumor" about every man who is even the least bit attractive. After all, they're all gay, aren't they? This is just one of the things about our community that pisses me off. People need to snap into reality that every attractive man is not gay or bi or curious. Most of them really are straight.
