If you're into big mega electronic stores, you might want to think of Best Buy over Circuit City.

It seems like the Circuit City Stores,Inc. Political Action Committee has been making contributions to anti-gay legislators.

This artcile comes from the Washington Blade Not the best buy

Ah man!! They have great deals on CDs every once in awhile.

Circuit City is also at the forefront of compulsory arbitration of employment disputes. It shouldn't sound like such a bad idea, until you eralize no jury trial, limited ability to get and present evidence, and (worst of all) the arbitrator is always from a company with which Shircuit Shity has a contract. Rule against the boss too many times, lose your contract.

I take my business elsewhere, thankyouverymuch.

My boyfriend works at the corporate office...He said just about everyone who works in the offices are either gay, bi, or experimental. Ladies and Gentleman. The best part is...I get a great discount on items!!! Of course remember that they are located in richmond and most there are closeted...of course they have covering of homophobia. Hell, his boss is married with two kids, but he and his wife have an "understanding." About his relations of course. biggrin.gif

Also notable from the Blade article:
QUOTE
The Human Rights Campaign, the nation’s largest gay advocacy group, gave Circuit City a low Corporate Equality Index score of 29 out of a possible 100. According to the survey, Circuit City does have a written non-discrimination policy covering sexual orientation in its employee handbooks, but does not protect against discrimination based on gender identity.

Circuit City also does not offer domestic partner benefits to its gay employees’ partners, nor does it offer diversity training covering sexual orientation or gender identity.
A good score on the index is no guarantee of equality in practice, but a score as low as 29 usually means trouble ... with a capital T, and that rhymes with P, and that stands for phobia.

I don't care for Circuit City but it's because their customer service STINKS. I stopped going into their stores because I have not ever had a positive exprience at one of their stores.

Someone should alert the "Queer Eye" producers. In one of the most recent episodes (which was rerun in the last hour) they did some shopping at a Circuit City.

Log Cabin has just announced that all future electonic purchases will be from Circuit City. "Buy from within" and they will change.

Hard to believe I actually have to say this but...he wants to know if you've contributed to the Outsports Legal Defense Fund. After all, if Outsports goes under you'll never be able to torment gmg again.

Relevance - and understanding - remains a problem for Mr. Raze, as his gratuitous meandering off this thread shows. But then again, it's entirely possible he's just "playing dumb." He was mute for a few days when the first call for contributions went out, but now he's apparently regained his voice. Would only it were sotto! frown

..only likely to go mute again for several days hoping that this will pass. Then he'll return again in a few days, "play" dumb and hope everyone forgets what he so obviously avoiding.

Theyre too busy making over neon cowboys in Dallas this week to air in January.

Mr. Chicken for Colonel Sanders,

OK, sit down and try to get those old brain cells cranking.... Did it ever occur to you that I dont read the "About the Board" thread? Heres a link to my last 50 posts, check it out, see how many times Ive posted there...

Dont worry, its not the Pelosi/German vote results

By the way, did they put a lawyer/losing politician in charge of fundraising for this worthy cause? Oh, if I do make a donation, you'll never know about it. See, when I give away money, I dont draw attention to my myself....HEY EVERYONE LOOK AT ME, I GAVE A DONATION, LOOK AT ME!!!!
But hey, if that's your style, knock yourself out!
