I think a breathalizer or blood alcohol content test may be in order given his history.

In his defense (Brrr - cold day in Hell, isn't it?), Bush is in excellent physical condition. He can run a 7-1/2 minute mile. Not just one mile, but for an extended period. Must have been a malfunctioning Segway, or he hit the "off" switch.

I thought those things were suppose to be "idiot proof", I guess the Segway was trying to get rid of the idiot in chief, wait, no....maybe its Bill Clintons fault somehow...

the segway folks, in fact, weren't thrilled with the photos. the thing is, after all, supposed to be idiot proof, and safe for sidewalks.
according to the accompanying story in today's (saturday) ny times, the reason dubya fell off the segway is not because of any mechanical malfunction, but because of operator error. HE FORGOT TO TURN IT ON!

Good. Segway is in the midst of trying to get legislation all over the country allowing the use of Segways on sidewalks. This was supposed to be part of their campaign, and I couldn't be happier that it backfired.
A local woman with spinal bifida feels that her Segway should be allowed in the Metro system. In her case, and in the case of others to whom the use of a Segway would provide mobility, I would grant an exception, just as I have no problem with seeing-eye dogs. Other than that, Segways and pedestrians are a bad mix.

I agree re the woman on Metro being able to bring her Segway, but as for regular pedestrians - STAY OFF THE SIDEWALK! I was nearly mowed down by some smug SOB near the Foggy Bottom Metro the other day. If bikes and skateboards have to stay off the sidewalk, that means you, too, Miss SegThing.

GatorJamie - Also be on the lookout for idiots on the idiot proof Segway. He maybe holding a bag of pretzels and being followed by an young, attractive blonde drunk chick.
