This week, the Bush administration suggested that jobs at fast food restaurants should be reclassified as MANUFACTURING jobs! This group of idiots have no idea what they are doing! Can you imagine how the midian salary of manufacturing workrs would plunge if burger builders' salaries were figured into the their salaries?!?! Here is a letter of protest from U.S. Senator Chris Dodd on his website...

These idiots know exactly what they're doing: destroying the middle class.

Communism is often referred to as the \"20th century experiement that failed\".
Unfortunately, the wealthy would like the middle class to suffer the same fate
and see a return to Victorian England: the ultra rich, the destitute poor, and
nothing in between.

Can you imagine how many jobs Shrub can claim he created under his regime by
relabelling service jobs as manufacturing? (Never mind the fact that the service
jobs don't exist anymore, so they won't be counted.)

Clearly, this is a desperate attempt to address his complete incompetence at
running the country. He ran the Texas Rangers into the ground, he ran Texas
into the ground, and now he's run the country into the ground.

And I thought the "Peter Principle" was invented to keep incompetents from
getting to higher levels.

Unfortunately, reclassifying jobs, playing with economic figures, changing criteria is standard DC fare in order to create the news that is needed. One must always be suspect of the news, especially when good news is suddenly appearing on the horizon. I remember when Maggie Thatcher in England proposed changing the criteria for what defined 'unemployed' in order to lower that number, and it's done in the US on both sides of the aisle. I'm not really a conspiracy theorists, but I am rather suspect of most news.

Wow I didnt know teenagers could work manufacturing jobs. I thought there were strict laws on that in the US. I guess Bush must forget we have such laws.

Im fairly sure McDonalds wants nothing to do with the manufacturing sector. That would open up the right to form unions and actually have McDonalds become a kinder gentler place to work. I remember when I was 16 (in 1993). McDonalds expected us to work 9 and 10 hr shifts on the weekend with only 1 15min break, which was routinely interupted. All for $4.25 an hour. And then those of us who quit gave that as the reason, they flat out denied it even happened.

So if manufacturing a hamburger constitutes factory work now, Ive seen it all!
