Now you're talkin', Jamie! Remember that takeoff on the GWTW poster that had RReagan as Rhett holding Maggie Thatcher as Scarlet, while a mushroom cloud loomed in the background? Hilarious!

C'mon, Wm., give me a more traditional reference, not something trendy trotted out of Hollywood. A well-chosen Greek myth might even suffice! I rarely go to the movies being made today - and haven't seen this one - so I'm at a current cultural loss.
Oh . . . you. (I've got to find you a better nickname.) Yes, most movies out today blow, but BJM is a really, really exceptional film, full of creativity, eccentricity, absurdity and philosophy. The scene with Elijah's repressed memories is, to me, a cinematic classic. The whole thing is just brilliant. The Kaufman/Jonez duo who brought us BJM has a new film coming out, called "Adaptation" that sounds equally intriguing. But that's another post, another forum.

Well, then, I'll look for it on video. I didn't see it because it seemed by its title alone to play up the Hollywood personality cult, which I absolutely refuse to subsidize or take beyond the screen, where it belongs.

Here are more: leading the Women's Motorcycle Contingent, Barbara Boxer as Raze on a Harley Hog, with Maggie Thatcher as William waving to the crowd on the rear seat and holding a big Pride flag.
Or...remember those Clinton/Gore circuit boy magnets? Raze/Wm could be Dick Gephart/Trent Lott, shirtless, of course. (the real thing is probably more appealing)

Here's a review, just FYI:
Being John MalkovichI don't know if this means anything to you, but the director of BJM, Spike Jonze, has directed some really awesome videos on MTV, including several for Weezer (the "Buddy Holly" video featuring old Happy Days footage) and Fatboy Slim (the really weird one with Christopher Walken as a mild-mannered businessman suddenly doing this elaborately choreographed dance through an office-building lobby).

Somehow I feel very cheap and used. Very dirty. Now I know how it feels to be objectified, even more so than when I am inevitably stared at obsessively by man after man after man after man after man at almost every bar I go to. All I ask is this: Don't hate me because I'm beautiful.

William, there's only one hope for you now - and I think we both know what it is, don't we???
Self-esteem classes at the local community center!
(You do have community centers where you live, don't you?)
