I predict a felony arrest with charges that stick in Ray Lewis' future. No one can beat the Madden Curse!

lol, Married Lady. Are you a Madden football fan? I didn't get the 2004 edition, but I play the 2003 edition pretty regularly. Culpepper to Moss is a deadly combination on their!!

Ok, this is REALLY sick of me, but I am the General Manager of my husband's franchise, the Kew Gardens/Detroit Lions. I helped him draft the team to start, I work the contracts, manage the stadium and set prices, and help with drafts. We are rolling into our 5th year with QB Joey Harrington, WR Torry Holt, and RB Ladanian Tomlinson forming a perfect scoring triangle, winning 3 Super Bowls in 5 years. Other teams quake with fear at the mention of our name.
I will be lined up early when the 2005 edition comes out, but I'm not proud of this.

It's not a healthy obession, but it gets us through the dark months known as the off-season. wink

That's funny. I started with the Vikings and have tweaked their roster a bit. Do you play against other people in a league or play a full season against other people? When I was in college some of my buddies and I would play choose teams and play seasons. Some of my new friends in L.A. do that with College Football, but not with Madden.
My play some times struggles on new or different machines because I use audibles fairly often and if I forget to set them I end up running chaos.

No, we just play the computer. But it's funny, now that we have had the franchise for a few years, the teams in our divisions (Bears, Rams, and Packers) are now building teams to try to beat us. We rely heavily on the run, so they are building SUPER D-LINES that are like the Steel Curtain.
We do have the modem thingy so you can play on-line but the level of play is either off the charts good or cover your eyes bad. We have done a few parties where we did eliminiation rounds and we offered prizes. But, we have a friend who has owned every Madden since they started making them, and he kept winning everything. He also have 5 notesbooks tracking his various franchises over the years.
We're not right,mentally.

Do you play on a PC or Play Station? Are the versions very different from year to year? I may have to get the 2005 version when it comes out and try to get some buddies to play a season with me. Playing the computer gets a little old, although I need to work on my defense, of course I am playing with the Vikings defense.

Goal Line O... HB Dive.. is always good for 4-5 yards....
Espially at the end of the game, when you are winning... then the clock runs... and you can run your mouth and taunt the person you are playing against... not that i would ever do that. Well, maybe once.

We use the Playstation version. And we usually start a franchise where you can mix and match players. For a while we had Bryon Leftwich throwing to Torry Holt and that was just a high flying circus. Right now, we are doing good with Harrington, he's smart and accurate, but if you simulate you get intercepted a lot, kinda like how he plays in real life.
Our favorite play is screen pass to Tomlinson. He is the Screen Pass Jesus of Madden, I swear. That usually gets us right up to the goal line, and then we use Brandon Jacobs (a fake player who is like a horse at 6-4, 265 lbs) to punch it in.
Defense wise, the best guys to get are good corners (we have Dre Bly and Charles Woodson)because the computer loves to pass.

I love to pass too. I have two audibles where I streak Randy Moss. Whenever the computer is dumb enough to go man, I go deep and get 6!! Moss is almost unstoppable in Madden. I think it's great how the NFL has some type of Madden tournament. I think Culpepper has won it once or twice. He says the EA Sports should have made him faster in the game though.

Such a shame that they never seem to perform like this on the field... tell me, does the pepper fumble and throw alot of INT's in madden?

Actually they do. Moss had 17 TDs last season. And you'll be able to witness it first hand in September. How does chunky soup do in Madden? I bet you blame Reid there too.

What I can't get over is how good they made Michael Vick. From what I understand, there was an old version of Techmo Bowl with (I think) Hershel Walker, and they made him unstoppable. This is similar to Vick. I wonder what they will do with him for the 2005 version.
I heard about that Madden Tournament too. From what I read, Willis McGahee was killing people left and right. In one game he scored over 100 points. Yikes!
