Brown says it's the swirling wind ... and in a related (somewhat) development, Teresa Heinz (or Mrs. John Kerry to you chowderheads) agrees: pronouncing Heinz Field "terrible". Heinz: "I don't think it's a terrible stadium; I just think it's a terrible wind tunnel." Heinz said she couldn't "figure out why architects did not enclose the southern end" of the 65K-seat, $281M stadium. The end "was left open, exposing the field to winds whipping off the Allegheny River." Imitating "a player kicking a field goal -- calling it a 'punt or whatever' -- the famously blunt" Heinz said: "'I don't know football from Cheyenne,' but said the design seemed to be contributing to the kickers' problems." Heinz hasn't "been to the stadium yet, but plans to attend the Steelers-Patriots game." Heinz didn't have any "involvement in designing the facility, which is owned by the Steelers.

Those are some pretty weird stats. Oddest to me is that opponents only attempted 9 field goals all season! That seems really low, but I guess it shows you how good that Steelers defense actually is.
