Yet another NFL Head Coach got fired today. Jim Mora is out in Indianapolis. That makes openings in San Diego, Minnesota, Carolina and Indy. Rumors swirl that more changes are possible in Washington, Tampa Bay and Buffalo (though I think the Bills would have made a move by now if they were going to).
Daniel Snyder apparently is very hot for Spurrier, which would mean tough luck for Marty Schottenheimer. And Dungy is rumored to be done in Tampa unless he makes the conference championship game. Both moves seem ridiculous to me. Dungy would certainly get another shot, but Scottenheimer is getting older and his chances of landing another job are probably slimmer.
Jim Mora pretty much shot himself. When you have a franchise player like Peyton Manning, and you decide to publicly trash him, you aren't going to have much respect from your players. What the Colts is 1) a defense; 2) a Coach who gives at least some thought to player relations, and; 3) a defense.
Did I mention they have no defense?

My boys the Colts definately need some serious help in the Defense area, and they need a running game back as well. Payton can't carry the entire team, he's been working at it, but that's just too much to ask.
So, on the subject of the Colts, who do you guys think should come in as coach. I'm still pretty new to following NFL, so I don't have a really good feel for any prospects. With you guy's help I may be able to have a starting place to make my own conclusion. Thanks for any help, just trying to learn as much as I can.

Parcells in Indy would be ideal. Dungy should and will stay in Tampa because they are going to beat Philly and challenge St. Louis. Spurrier goes to Carolina because he's familiar with Weinke, it's warm and the expectations are not as high. Mora can go to hell because he's a head case. Green should chill for a couple of seasons.
