My tired old eyes aren't functioning well this morning ... I thought your headline was "Let's Bomb the Cubs"!
Yeah, the Cubbies are off to a slow start ... if they're bombed out of existence surely the Twins would be saved (but not Les Expos) ... I know, only Sammy Sosa is hitting ... and the pitching which was so incredible last year is having a bit of trouble with Kerry Wood not quite as sharp and Jon Leiber missing a start ... and, sure, Don Baylor is an unlikeable guy ... but it's early ... Wrigley is a national treasure ... and, most ominously, Bud's bud Jerry Reinsdorf would have the only functioning Chicago baseball franchise.
So don't bomb Cubs. Brewers? Yes. Orioles? Of course. Royals? Wouldn't hurt. But no to bombing Cubs.
