According to Tom Raum-AP: Bush's own flip flops may become an issue. I have posted several times pointing out Shrub's own flip flops. This latest article pounts out many of Shrub's own flip flops which may come back to bite him.
In 2000, Bush argued against new military entanglements and nation building. He's done both in Iraq.
He opposed a Homeland Security Department, then embraced it.
He opposed creation of an independent Sept. 11th commission, then supported it. He first refused to speak to its members, then agreed only if Cheney came with him.
Bush argued for free trade, then imposed 3 year tariffs on steel imports in 2002 only to withdraw them after 21 months.
Last month he said he doubted the war on terror could be won, then reversed himself, to say it could and would.
A week after the Sept 11 attacks, Bush said he wanted Bin Laden, "dead or alive." But he told reporters 6 months later, " I truly am not that concerned about him."
Also Bush has changed his position on new clean air restrictions, protecting the Social Security surplus, tobacco subsidies, the level of assistance to help combat AIDS in Africa, campaign finance overhaul, and whether to negotiate with North Korean officials.

Shrub is nothing more than a hypocrite running for re-election.
Its long been time since Kerry pointed these out and started hammering away.

Alas, I fear the Democrats have dropped the ball quite often in this rough and tumble campaign. Too many people are buying lies that various groups or individuals put out, and, even when they are withdrawn or proved false, very few seem to notice. It reminds me of the approach in the courtroom when the jury is told to disregard this eveidence.

"Pounts?" What's that mean, "to ruefully note something a little too quickly?" Love those Freudian slips of the hand!

The biggest developing flip-flop now seems to be "The Case of The Forged Documents," penned by Sir Arthur Conan Rather. Interestingly, it looks like neither campaign was involved in this one; it appears to be all CBS' mis-doing. Can't wait to hear Dutch Uncle Dan's definition of "definitve evidence" when it comes time to issue that retraction. Don't hold your breath - just grab the remote!

The worst part of the possibility that those documents are forgeries is the anemic nature of their "revelations." Bush didn't show up for a physical which was punishable beyond the grounding that is in the record. He said he served in the Alabama Gaurd, but no one can demonstrate that he ever showed up. He was obligated to transfer his Gaurd responsibilities to Massachussetts, but not even his people argue that he ever did. So they forge some documents that seem to indicate that a commander or two might have had misgivings about not taking action against him, despite the fact that his father was a prominent and powerful Washington figure. Wow, what a revelation. That was hardly worth it. If you're going to forge documents to make someone look bad, you might as well make sure the accusations are something everyone was not already aware of.

Nope, not a flipflop, the docs are real. It must pain you and other right-wingers to admit that the creep-in-chief you adore not only hates you but was a total slug and laggard when it came to his "duty and service" to his (our) country, that he got every favor in the book and STILL couldn't do the little bit that was required of him, but what else should we expect of this lousy, lying, obviously deranged religious fanatic, commando-wannabe-in-thief?

But yeah, fixate on this forgery nonsense. As Rather has said, if anyone has any PROOF that the docs are fakes--and I don't mean that pathetic closet case Drudge, or GOP operatives who were pushing that "Swift Boat" nonsense yet didn't even serve on Kerry's boat--then he or she should bring it forward.

Hey, BTW, as you gloat about the docs, just remember that W said we could win the war on terra. Then in a moment of sanity or insanity he said we couldn't. Then he said we could. Sounds like a deranged flipflopper to me.

The point is Bushie is an incompetent boob. I hate to say it but I think Iraq is going as sour as it can. Can Kerry fix this when he gets in? Obviously Bush can't.

Don't ever say that. Whenever one says "it can't possibly get worse" Fate steps in and shows us how wrong that is.

We really need to start demanding that they do something right over there and come up with a real plan to bring peace. I'm about disgusted with this sh** and I think the nation will be soon, too. The tough guy crap talk ain't cutin' it, those guys don't buy it. We shouldn't lose another of our people over there! We need someone who knows what they're doing to get involved, get rid of the morons.

Interesting...no comment from PF yet. You all can sure dish it out, but can't seem to take it.

It's not that Bush has flip-flopped (accent on the flop) or that Kerry has done the same--every politician changes positions depending on facts, circumstances, and polling. The problem is that the Bush folk have set the parameters for the campaign: Kerry is the flip-flopper--and married to an uppity non-American--while Bush is decisive--with God on his side, to boot. Until and unless the Kerry folk can take control of the debate, those facile images will remain in place & doom us to yet another four years of the Dim Bulb as President.
