Marvin, under no circumstances should you take the Bengals' head coaching job.
Actually...
(fill in the blank), under no circumstances should you take the Bengals' head coaching job.

It sounds like Tom Coughlin is the poor sucker in line for this job. Well at least its a paycheck and if he wins 6 games, they'll throw him a parade!

Now that the Steelers are done, the Bengals apparently want to talk to Steelers offensive coordinator Mike Mularkey. Steelers O certainly was impressive, but he has a ALOT more weapons to work with in Pittsburgh than they have in Cincy. And unless Mike Brown turns over the GM duties, Gumby may as well be the coach, cuz it ain't gonna work!

The NFC Championship Game is the answer why Marvin Lewis should not take the Bengals job. You don't see Monte Kiffin and Jim Johnson being interviewed for head coaching jobs.
There are worse things than being a top defensive coordinator for your entire coaching career, one of which is being head coach of the Cincinnati Bengals.

An NFC personnel chief:
"It certainly looks like (Cincinnati owner) Mike Brown isn't going to hire Tom Coughlin as his new head coach. That's not only a mistake, it's also a telling indictment, because it says things are going to be status quo with the Bengals. To have hired Coughlin, and given him some clout, would have signaled a real change. But, no, Brown still feels like it's his show to run. Nothing against Lewis but, years from now, he might want to strike the whole Bengals experience from his resume."
I couldn't have said it better myself.

Hey PCC. . . . Leave Monte Kiffin OUT of this conversation please. Even the thought of him being pursued by another team and leaving the Bucs gives me great panic He is no doubt THE defensive mastermind in the league and will retire someday as a legecy.

I don't know about Kiffin, but I keep reading that Johnson doesn't get talked up for head coaching jobs because at age 62 he's considered too old. Hard to believe, isn't it?
