This should make you happy.
THIS will be the week that Moss hits 100 yards receiving and makes it 10 consecutive games with a TD.
Moore will get 200 yards from scrimmage and score his first NFL TD.
Meanwhile, Stephen Davis will perform brilliantly in knocking off the Eagles with 125 yards and 2 TDs.

Isnt Davis injured? eh, he's always injured. Carolina is a good solid team and this is a big challenge for those birds. 2 weeks to prepare, and we all know that Fat Ass is very good out of a bi week.
Sting, is there a game when moss WON'T have TD's and 100 yard games? Oh wait, that already happened in Philly, but he was too drunk to see Moss shut down.
And oh yeah, last i checked, John Fox was...infact... a bitch.

DeShaun Foster injured
Carolina has no running game. Eagles win.
Stat of the week - Teams with a 100 yard receiver have won 19 and lost 30 in the NFL this year.

Stephen Davis is thought to have a pretty good chance of playing this week. Foster and WR Steve Smith are both definitely out however.

Whether Davis plays hurt or not, the Panthers are really banged up. I can't see them scoring many points this week as long as the Eagles continue to apply pressure and not take them for granted.
As far as Moss is concerned he can have all the 100 yard passing games he wants as long as he is playing golf the first week of February.

D doesn't matter. Last I checked the team with the most points at the end of the game wins. wink
The ironic thing is that Moss has yet to have a 100 yard receiving game this year. He just catches TDs.

That is correct. No reason it can't continue this week.
Here's a fun little item from yesterday's paper:
High-flying Birds
YOUR FOOTBALL TEAM is 4-0, living the good life. Everybody's happy. Thelast three championship-game losses are way behind them - painful then, quieted now.
These Eagles are enjoying the bounty and booty of prosperous pro athletes in a town obsessed with their success.
They're having fun, too.
ESPN: The Magazine was in town recently to interview Donovan McNabb and Terrell Owens. The piece, in the current issue, fairly crackles with merriment. Owens tells the magazine about how hard McNabb throws the ball in practice and how it hurts him when it hits him in the chest. And how McNabb enjoys his pain.
"Jeff Garcia couldn't throw the ball that hard with the wind behind him," Owens says.
"See? John McEnroe was like that," McNabb says. "Controversial because of his mouth. You are a black John McEnroe. John Blackenroe."
"Go on, brother," Owens says, laughing. "But if I said it, you'd see what kind of reaction I'd get. It wouldn't be funny or positive. That's what missing in my years in football, the laughter, the fun. We laugh a lot here."
The interview continues with Owens interestingly saying the team needs some adversity, so it can show it has the strength to get up.
After some more yuks, Owens says he knows McNabb will be there for him, no matter what.
McNabb leans into a tape recorder and sings: "Feeeeelings. Nothing more than feeeeelings."
These are heady times, indeed.

Another week, another double-digit win. And that's with not much of a running game, not much of a passing game outside of a couple of 50-yard bombs to T.O. Chalk this up to the Eagles defense more than the offense.
The other unbeatens (Pats and Jets) stay that way and as a reward get to play each other next week while the Eagles go to Cleveland. On the radio yesterday they were discussing 1993, when they started 4-0 and 7-2 under Kotite, and had their next game at Cleveland. Ray Didinger, who works for NFL Films and is also in the Pro Football Hall of Fame for his work as a sportswriter here, told someone at the time that not only would the Eagles lose at Cleveland, but that they wouldn't win another game the rest of the season. And that's exactly what happened. Surely he won't be making a similar prediction this week. wink
I guess we'll be hearing about how Gibbs is a genius again since he managed to beat the mighty Chicago Bears.

Ok Sting, you got Moore right, Davis wrong and Moss, well lets just say incomplete due to injury.
Watching that Vikes - Saints game, I thought I tuned in to the XFL. Where was the defense? I mean 69 points and over 1000 yards of offense?
Minnesota has great offense but their defense has alot to be desired. If they run into another high powered offense they may not have enough to win.

Viking fans need to remember they started 6-0 last year and failed to make the playoffs, and so far this year they've beaten teams with a combined 8-14 record and lost to the only good team they faced. They're not going anywhere with that defense.

Shut up Jim! wink
Yeah the D is pretty dismal despite the preseason hype that it was going to be vastly improved. The one thing I notice though is that the Vikes are being a bit more aggressive on offense this year. What killed them last year was that far too often the Vikes would settle for a field goal instead of going for the TD or running the ball on first, second and third down after getting a lead and then giving the ball back to the opponent too quickly. Tice has to realize (and I think he's doing a better job of it this year) that the Vikes best D is their offense. I don't think we'll be seeing the same late season collapse as last year.

Didn't I already tell you to shut up?
Degrees of woefulness aside, the Colts aren't exactly the Steel Curtain. Let's look at the stats, shall we?
The Colts rank last in the AFC in total defense allowing 385.4 YPG, 293.6 of that via the air. The Vikes are ranked 15th in the NFC allowing 384 YPG, 280.2 of that via the air.
Colts have beaten Titans, Packers, Jaguars and Raiders. Total opponent record 10-14.
Vikings have beaten Cowboys, Bears, Texans and Saints Total opponenst record 8-14.
I'd say the woefulness thing is a coin flip at this point.
Joe in Philly
Oct 18 2004, 01:32 PM
So when the Vikings and Colts meet in a couple of weeks the final score will probably be 58-57. Or they'll fool us all and it's 10-9.
stinger85
Oct 18 2004, 01:48 PM
The Vikings offense gains such large amounts of yards at a time that their opponenets get the ball a lot more when they play the vikes than against other teams. The Vikes 6-0 start last season was due in large part to the play of their D. They led the league in takeaways for the early part of last season. If their D begins to play more solid they will be unstoppable. Colt fans need to remember that as long as New England is in their conference, they won't be seeing the Superbowl any time soon. wink
