Was just looking at the latest poll results for who the early favorites are for 2008 in each party, in a story on CNN.
For the Repugs. the leader is Guiliani, who was 8 points ahead of his neartest rival, Sen. John McCain. This is going to be very interesting, to see how Rudy's liberal stances on social issues plays out.
For the Dems., no surprise, its Hillary in first, far ahead of both Kerry, and Edwards who were tied for second place overall.
Still along ways to go, but this is how things are shaping up a bit more than 2 years out.
I know this might sound horrible but even though I am a woman (if you couldn't tell by my name..

) and a registered democrat - Hillary does not excite me that much frown

What it really comes down to is America ready for a woman President? Because even though alot of people will answer no, Kindasleezy Rice was down on the list of Repugs.

Why in this day and age do we have to debate whether or not a woman would be good in office? I think at this point it should be a given that a woman would make a fine president. As a matter of fact, a martian would be better than what we have now. I digress...why do folks still debate over whether or not a woman could do the job? Of course a woman could be president.

I think it's kind of stupid to ask whether or not a woman could be a capable president, however, I don't think either Hillary or Condi is electable to that office. If the Dems want to lose again in 2008 they'll nominate Hillary.

Well, according to many news sources, the fact that Hillary will be the 2008 nominee is a given. One of Chicago's respected Democratic journalists has repeatedly said that the Democratic Party will ensure the field is cleared for Hillary, and that any possible opposition to her in the primary should she choose to run--like there's any doubt to THAT--would be dealt with "severely."
Interesting.

Interesting? The more appropriate term would be "baloney".
No one will be "clearing the field" for Hillary under the threat of retribution, despite what your "many sources" and un-named journalist says.

When push comes to shove, no one votes for the chic... kinda like the W/Kerry choice...
However, carry on with your usual dribble.

However, the "dribble" is on your chin. The term you meant is "drivel".

If ya'all want this bimbo in office, run her as a vice pres cause there is no way people will vote her in the big spot. Second fiddle might be a good start.

It's my opinion that America will only elect a female/minority/gay President if that candidate is a Republican. A female/minority/gay Democrat would instantly be branded "too liberal" by too much of the right, but a Republican would get votes from both the right ("I like his/her stance on the issues") and the left ("It's about time we elected a...").

ps Kerry throws like a girl.
