In addition to the picks and fantasy football play, anyone here interested in playing "Survivor" on Yahoo? The last man standing wins. It seems like fun. Here are the rules:

Welcome to Yahoo! Sports Survival Football, a weekly game that challenges you to show your skills by correctly identifying a winning professional football team in each of the 17 weeks of the regular season.
Each week you must select one team that you suspect will be a winner in their game that weekend. If that professional team wins, you remain Active and are allowed to pick again the following week. If the professional football team you selected loses (or the game ends in a tie), you are eliminated from the competition and may no longer make future picks.

To make this simple sounding game more of a challenge, you can only select each professional football team once while an Active member of an individual group.

If you're interested go to http://football.fantasysports.yahoo.com/survival and join private group 7102. The id is 'outsports' and the password is 'survivor'. It's set for 25 players but if there are more, I can increase it.

To join this group, remember, it is the Group ID#, (7102),not the group name, that you will need.

I run a similar pool: The Loser's Pool. Pick a team to lose; if they do, you stay alive. If they win, you're done. Can only take a team once a season.

Do you have to be signed up before the beginning of the season, or can you sign up now but just lose points in the season totals (like some other games)? If it's the latter, you can still sign up--you've only missed one week.

I guess I could have been clearer in my posts. The deadline to join to play week 1 was last night. However, you can sign up at anytime but if you're the last man standing, your trophy will be somewhat tarnished. wink

The picks this week seem pretty safe with MIA garnering the most votes as a lock to beat HOU, followed by a SFO win over CHI. The surprise pick is the Maryland Maniacs guaranteeing a PHI win over TB. eek!

I must state for the record that I'm a Redskins fan, NOT a fan of either the Eagles or the Bucs. I think Tampa's not going to be able to handle being the hunted team and the emotion of playing in their first-ever game in the new Lincoln Financial Field will add to too much MO for the Eagles. I predict a score of 31-20 Eagles with 10 of the Bucs points coming in garbage time.

I dunno. I was stunned by how many people got the boot after the Houston game.

I didn't see anything in the rules about a freebie. And seeing as how I picked Miami, I'm outta here. eek!

With Cyd picking the Texans to win it all (in the AFC South at least), that scared me away enough from picking Miami.

I missed this group, but I'm in a different Survivor pool in Yahoo. Can I play vicariously through that group? I promise to be honest <wink>....I took Carolina the first week...talk about a scare. Over half my group got the boot with Miami picks.

Due to the non-pick of one tribe member, we are down to the final five and we are only in Week 2.

All 4 survive this week. Me and tbbucsalstott barely with Denver over Detroit, and Jets Bets and Bipolar Bear with Saint Louis over Arizona.

All 4 still survive and go on to next week, Bipolar Bear, Jets Bets and Me with Buffalo over Cincy, and tbbucsalstott with Carolina. For week six I am going with the Titans.

That Buffalo game was a squeaker. Didn't think I was going to survive it. I'm not sure who I'm picking this Sunday. The Jets are playing Buffalo, but I can't pick Buffalo again.

Well all 4 are still alive and moving on to week 7.

hey no picking on bipolar bear hehe. I actually choose the name after one of the episodes of "Queer Duck" he has friends "openly gator" and "bipolar bear".

I'm not able to pull up the yahoo site at work...but who won ended being the Sole Survivor? I know Sonix told me he got knocked out a few weeks back so it should have been between bipolar bear & tbbucsalstott. Did I make a fiery, bitchy speech at the Final Tribal Council?

Bipolar bear (me) and TBbucs tied. just last week we both had the same pick the Bucs and they lost to Jacksonville. I think we did pretty damn good for all the upsets this year to last 13 weeks.
