Full Version: S. F.'s Liberal Wacko: "The United States does not need a military."
Outsports Discussion Board > Outsports > Politics & Religion
MIB
That's right. This stupid board of supervisors member and liberal nutjob said it live on TV while being interviewed by another liberal, Alan Colmes. Alan, who repeatedly said, "This is unbelievable," asked this wackjob more than once, just to be sure of his answer, to which Sandoval said several times, "The U.S. doesn't need a military. There shouldn't be a military."

And they say liberals love our freedoms.

Ship him out.
fenwayguy
Oh yeah, like his opinion on U.S. military policy is really relevant to his job. rolleyes.gif

If he'd only sponsor a proclamation to ban earthquakes within San Francisco city limits, then we'd be getting somewhere...
MIB
His opinion was sought because of the B.O.S.'s decision to prohibit military recruiting in the city, a stupid move.

Regardless what one thinks about the Iraq war, the military has had a long history of recruiting at schools and other such venues. One of the reasons our military has been so great is because of the many, many young men and women who willingly put on the uniform.

Oh god - I'm gonna be sick.

I agree with MIB.

There I said it: ptew, ptew, ptew - gotta get bad taste out of my mouth.

Having said that, unless the world is totally turned upside down, it is hardly a liberal position to state isolationist ideals.

The US would be far better off if we didn't consider ourselves the worlds Policeman; and if we invested more time and effort in coalition and consensus building with our allies before undertaking adventuristic military expeditions and boondoggles.

I am slightly surprised: isolationism is traditionally the politics of the conservatives.

You're learning, IT.

BTW, isolationism is one thing, but publicly stating in an interview that the U.S. shouldn't have a military, well...that's absolutely nuts!
MIB
I'm sure several folks here will not believe these comments, demanding I post a link, which is impossible, since it was during a TV interview (maybe it'll be on the Internet soon, I don't know), but here's a little info:

Sandoval was wearing what looked like a black or very dark green suit with a white shirt and a tie with a beige background and olive/brown spots of some sort. His hair was blowing in what was an obvious outdoor interview in windy conditions.

MIB, master of the generalization. rolleyes.gif One liberal obviously speaks for us all. I'm surprised you haven't exploded yet, considering Fred Phelps speaks for you.

There is a huge difference. I outrank you.

Do not make me repeat my warning. The repercussions you will reap.

That's cold. What do MIB and the Reverend Phelps have in common other than their religion, political ideology, and social skills?

MIB, if it is any comfort, think about how angry this would make the good Reverend.

I was making a point about making generalizations and how inaccurate they really are. I went with Phelps to make that point especially clear to MIB.

And to be fair to MIB, he is a catholic and Phelps isn't a big fan of holy mother church.

Sooooooooooooo....it's okay for you to compare Phelps to others, but it's NOT okay for someone to compare Phelps to you?

How...convenient, among other things.
MIB
Comparing situations is not the same as comparing people, but with respect to the latter, one must at least make a valid analogy, something the original author of the above comparison did not.

Okay, all liberals are like this ONE SF person as

MIB is (like) Dobson, Gary Bauer, Tony Perkins, Phyllis Schlafly, Ralph Reed, Jerry Falwell, Pat Robertson, David Horowitz, etc....take your pick!

Ewwww, Fantomas, you sure paint an ugly picture! Thanks be to God I'm a liberal. I sure would hate to be associated with right-wing nut jobs like those you listed. I can now breathe a sigh of relief!

We here refer to them as the Board of Stupidvisors, led by the biggest LOSER of them all, Chris Daly.

How odd that the believers in origninal intent should argue for a standing military which is contrary to such.

The constitutional right to bear arms has been misinterpreted by them if they assume it means everyone one who has the legal right to go out and get a gun should not lose that right if they only sell it to those who commit crimes.

Armed militias should be for defending your home.

Dennis Kucinich had it right
