Has anyone heard for sure who won this race?
The last I saw Johnson (D) was up by about 500 votes with 99% reporting in.

Johnson won, though he's to the right of Daschle, so he'll probably rush up under whatever the Republicans come up with. And he's got six years to do so.
I think the reason he won was those people out there maybe looked at their pockets or pocketbooks before they voted. South Dakota isn't rolling in jobs these days....
Georgians really better hope the Department of Homeland Security locates a huge complex there, or in South Carolina, another state that couldn't get enough of the Republicans this time around.

No, Johnson is just very popular in SD, primarily because he is relatively conservative for a Dem and ran as a supporter, to some extent, of Bush. Also, the best argument Johnson had was that his seniority combined with Dashcle's was better for SD. Sort of like, if it ain't broke, don't fix it. But there's still a recount. Keep hope alive.

I just know that the Republican loser in So. Dakota was a hottie. Made me want to join the Log Cabin dudes.
