Seriously, what is a "sports hernia" and how is it different from a "hernia?"

Philly Fan why are you letting Cowboy fans and Eagles haters upset you? My goodness...Dallas is now 2 out of the past 11 vs the Eagles. Both teams sit at 3-2. All it proves is what was already true...that any team could be beaten on any given sunday. After all...all you have to do is ask the Redskins and Raiders of that.

The medical term for sports hernia is athletic pubalgia, and it occurs when tears develop in the muscles of the lower abdomen. A conventional hernia occurs when a rupture occurs and an organ protrudes through the wall in which it was contained.
I stayed at a Holiday Inn Express last night.

It's actually quite funny, I mean raze has been MIA all year, until this week (post game).
If you look at my previous posts (pre-game).. i told you that the cockroaches ONLY come out after a win.

Well I can't say I'm excited about how they won, at least the Panthers won. How many times is Delhomme going to throw that interception. You know the one short right picked off and ran back for great gain. Throw that damn play away already.
Next up Detroit. Hopefully the Panthers can go into their bye week 4-2.
On a related note, it really hurt to have to root for New England yesterday. Panthers are still on an OK track, even with Atlanta and behind Tampa. Hopefully TB will suffer the predicted, and often debated about, bust.

Well, quite unexpectedly I had to cancel my NJ trip. It seems the airports in the northeast cannot handle a "little rain". Friday night waiting in the airport my flights got pushed back to well after midnight, and it was 4 p.m. Then the airline offered to change my flight to Sat, but the weather looked just as bad. So it was just a sign.
Bucs couldnt do anything right, 3rd down conversions were horrible. Pittman drives me crazy with his tinkerbell running. It would not have helped to blitz Vinny more, experienced QBs want to be blitzed, they read it better. Front 4 needed to put more pressure on him. And play calling flat out stunk, too many pass attempts and not enough run attempts.
On to da Fins.
P.S. - Totally agree Ronde Barber(he will get a hefty fine though!) should have been ejected for his personal foul, inadvertantly hitting the zebra. However, I have complained about this for years. There is absolutely no reason anyone should ever be allowed to grab and hold onto someone's facemask. Can anyone give me a reason? It's ridiculous. Know what I am saying?

He's not upset. He loves it. They're the ones who let him upset them. Just let them all play with each other...ew. eek!

Well, there was more than a \"little\" rain, though Saturday was really the worst of it, so I don't know what the problem was on Friday night. Sorry you weren't able to make it. Which airport were you supposed to fly into?

JIP, I’m not sure why you would not see some cause for concern.
The loss Sunday had nothing to do with an injury to dmac. It had to do with poor D, special teams, and poor play calling.
Reid has a bye week to figure out when he’s going to call ONE RUN PLAY per drive. At this point, I’d settle for that from them. I don’t care how many wins you get if you can’t run the ball, you are DEAD.
The Defense is not getting any pressure from the front 7 all year.
Special teams coverage has stank.
The loss can turn into a positive if it gets their collective heads out of their back sides. To that point, Reid had won 10 consecutive East games, so I’m giving him a pass and see what he does out of the bye (where he has been unbeatable).
Assuming the 4skins lose in KC next week, and then if the pokes can knock off the gints. Everyone basically has the same record. That will leave it to the division games, where you WILL lose if you don’t run the ball.

That's what I expect to happen, which is why I'm not really worried. They now have two weeks to be tortured by media, fans, etc. And right now I have more faith that Reid and the coaches will do what it takes to fix things than I've had in the past.

I know it is only one loss for the Eagles, but Andy needs to improve on overall preparation with both his coaches and players. A couple of things that came out of this.
1) Complacency, Mike Lewis acknowledged as much by saying the team was probably not as prepared as it should have been and maybe were overconfident. Dawkins said the intensity level was not there.
2) John Harbaugh needs to figure out how to get the most out of the special teams personel. the Cowboys constantly had great field position. No defense can consistently keep points off the board when the opponent only has to go 50 yards on each posession.
3) I still think West Coast offense or not, a runnning game needs to be part of the package. It adds balance, and gives the defense a rest by eating up more clock and not giving the opposition as much time on offense. Brian W. has had few opportunities to run the last few games.
My last beef is with defensive pressure on the QB. Why is Kearse MIA? He only has one sack this year. The statue Bledsoe was never touched. I wonder if he has lost a step since that great rookie year.
Lastly, Andy when the game is no longer in doubt please take McNabb out before he has to endure yet another sack.

Amen, this team has looked this way the last 3 weeks.
Safe to assume they have lost some of the fire?

How the hell can the refs blow a frickin' instant replay challenge? The Pittsburgh receiver was clearly NOT contacted on the ground with the ball in his possession, and the moronic ref says his foot was touched by the defender. Bullshit.
The Mighty Steelers are getting hosed again.

That muffed punt on the fair catch attempt by the Charger returner -- if that is the correct call based on the rule, then that rule has got to be changed. The ball bounced away from him -- it should be a free ball once he loses control of it.
Roethlisberger hurt late in the game...carted off the field...uh oh...

Did anyone hear about this? Another reason why I avoid Raider games. It's so common that it doesn't even make the news anymore unless someone dies. Pathetic, just pathetic.

I was kidding, that is why I put the quotes around little rain!

I was flying Continental into Newark. The plane was at TIA with crew, but the Newark Air traffic controls delayed any planes taking off twice for over 4 hours.

Ronde Barber has been fined $30,000 for hsi TKO of an official during the Bucs loss to the Jets. How did he not get thrown out of the game? Two players get thrown out for a pregame scrum during the MNF matchup between teh Eagles and the Falcons and a guy punches a ref, albeit accidentally, and he gets to play?
