Lesbian Candy Marcum is running for Dallas District 14, an open seat due to term limits. Transsexual restraunt owner Monica Barros-Greene is running for open seat District 2, currently held by openly gay Mayor Pro Tem John Loza. Incumbent Ed Oakley, who is gay, of District 3 is running for re-election. These arent the only races but just the queerly noted ones.

And on an odd note, Albert "Dyke" T Turner is running for the seat in District 9. I will assume he's a straight guy. And here you thought I was being rude by using the word dyke!

I've lived in Dallas almost 25 years and I don't think I can remember a time when there wasn't at least one open or "known" gay on the city council as surprising as that sounds.

Linus Spiller is openly gay black man and running in District 6. I know him and Candy Marcum personally. I don't think Linus stands a chance in the predominately hispanic district against an incumbent hispanic. Candy will be a GREAT councilmember if she wins.
