Oh yeah good ole Christian Family Values, I was just in court and this woman's lawyer was telling the judge how she is a single mother of 4, and then the woman is like Ive found God your honor. Maybe if all gay people turn straight and slut around with women instead of guys, we can have more great stories like this, and God will come down to visit earth more often.

Fianlly! I have been offline all morning long. THANK YOU COMCAST!!!!!!  I mean it only got down to -2 here, for crying out loud!!

Anyway, as predicted and expected the Mayor is out of a job!
65% for the recall.
35% against.

What was really interesting was his press conference which was held about an hour ago. I think I found out more about Jim West than I ever had known before!! He was arrogant, stand offish, and occsionally condesending. Highly insightful

He said he was at peace with himself, and that he plans on staying in Spokane, the city he loves, or claims to anyway. He mentioned a couple of times that he was very embarrassed about the whole situation. Then a Reporter asked him about any thoughts or feelings about his (rabidly) anti-gay voting record. His response just blew me away. He said he viewed any supposed gay rights legislation that came beofre him as not benefitting or protecting anyone!! That was a bizarre answer I thought. In other words, he wouldn't have changed one single vote!! Said he knew he took alot of heat for several votes from the gay community. Hell yes you did sir!!!

The man is still in serious denial about his homosexuality in my opinion. Said he had found the Lord, blah, blah, blah.
Another reporter started to ask more about his private life, and he snared back, " that is none of your damn business"!

He started the conference by rattling all the things he sees that he himself has done to benefit the city, same old stuff he always has.

AS I have pointed out before, he is planning on suing the Spokesman-Review for invasion of prvacy, so wouldn't comment too much about that. He also could not comment on the still on going FBI investigation either, which will continue on as well.

He said he is looking forward to haveing a "private life", now that he is stepping down.
He also said he didn't really understand the world wide media attention this story had received either, that he always thought it was more of a local story.

It was very interesting. He didn't sound very well to me. Said he was up very late. He is still battling colon cancer as well.

At least now my city can begin to move on from this fiasco, I hope, but with his impending lawsuit against the newspaper, it may take awhile longer.

So since he has such marked ephebophilic tendencies, is he moving to Thailand or Denmark? Maybe he can become mayor of one of the cities there and dole out favors to deserving young boys...er, men. Sleazebucket!

Nope. Staying in Spokane, the city he "loves." He has hinted he may write a book too. Gee, like I am so excited. Another Reporter yesterday during his press conference asked him about the Republican party distancing themselves from him only after the story started getting huge, He said he understood that "everybody did what they had to do."

Today is Mayor Wests' last full day in office. He mentioned he planned on doing nothing different from any other day he would normally be involved with, meetings/corresondace/official city business and the normal regular stuff. City Councilman Dennis Hession will be taking over at least for the short term as council appointed Mayor, at least for now it appears. There is also alot of talk also about opening up the position more, to allow qualified members of the general public to become Mayor if they should choose to do so. Its not clear yet, if the city council will appoint Hession to fill out the remaining 2 years left for West, or appoint him temporary Mayor, and then open the seat up to the general public.

In other news the Spokesman-Review, who Jim West is still planning on suing, is still trying to get some of the file information that earlier was decided by a judge, would not be released to the general public, opened and released to the general public. Now on this one, I have a problem with. Like we already know whats on/in the files. I just don't see the point in trying to have this information released. Its time to put a period in this and somehow move on!!!! I don't agree with this point the paper has taken on this one.

My thinking is that the more the paper can get released the better their chances are in court. They are trying the case in the court of public opinion. If everyone sees exactly what is on is computer, it's going to be hard on West.

Kuj. Yeah, I know they are trying this in the court of public opinion, but I just don't see the point in releasing the remaining files, when its already been pointed out, that they are mostly profiles, pics, nude pics, pics of gay sex, and so on......

Are things changing in the State of Washington?

QUOTE
Last Monday, the Washington state Capitol was hit again with seismic activity, but this tectonic shift was figurative. It was the announcement by state Sen. Bill Finkbeiner, R-Kirkland, that he would no longer oppose gay-rights legislation.

Finkbeiner said that, upon further enlightenment (a condition that often guides people toward tolerance), he believes gays and lesbians should be added to the list of people who must not be discriminated against in matters of housing, employment and finance.

While this is big, its not a done deal just yet. Personally, I will believe it when I see it, that meaning the bill has finally passed. Too many years have passed where it looked good, only to fail, usually by one vote. The other thing we are waiting on is the ruling by the State Supreme Court on whether it is unconstitutional to ban gay marriage. I guess a ruling is expected anytime. biggrin.gif
